Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), previously known as the West Bengal University of Technology, is one of the leading government-owned universities in West Bengal in the field of Technological studies. The placements data is not officially covered in the placement records of the university due to technical problems but a fair number of companies recruit students from the university while offering fair packages.

Engineering followed by Information Technology are the two most prioritized disciplines in terms of placements. While at third and fourth place, comes the Operations and Education Sector respectively. Apart from these sectors, there are plenty of other sectors where students get jobs through university placements. Other sectors providing placements are Finance, Marketing, Sales etc.

Salaries Offered

The companies visiting the University for Placement offer a fair number of packages to the students. With the highest CTC being INR 19 LPA which was offered by Zeotap in 2021.

Due to insufficient records of offered packages, it is not possible to estimate the average salary offered during the placements in MAKAUT but most of the students managed to bag good job offers.

The placements cell and its record:

The placement team in this university is very active and helps each of the students in bagging jobs in the placements drive. The students in MAKAUT receive a huge amount of support from the placement team which makes it possible for most of the students to secure places in top companies.

An estimated number of 190+ students got placed in the year 2021. The placement cell even provides EdTech subscriptions to needy students in order to help them groom and grow their technical skills. Students who do not get any on-campus placements get assisted by the placement cell in acquiring off-campus offers.
