Only female students in their first year of postgraduate and doctorate programmes will be given restricted housing on campus, based solely on merit.

For first-year males applying to any of the master's and doctoral programmes, the hostel facility is on a limited basis (subject to availability).

Students who are NRIs or from abroad can reserve accommodations in advance.

The students must stay in the rooms that have been designated for them. However, a worried warden can permit pupils to switch dormitories in extraordinary circumstances. Changing hostel accommodations throughout a semester or term is typically not allowed. However, a student may only move if the Coordinating Warden gives their permission and there are seats available in another hostel.

If a student does not occupy the room within the allotted period, the allocation may be cancelled. If students don't pay off all of their debts to the hostel or mess by the deadline, they'll also lose their rooms.

The student must agree to follow the hostel's rules and regulations in order to be given housing in a dorm. If a student violates any of the rules and guidelines established by the Dean Students' Office, they will be kicked out of the dorm.

Any tampering with hostel property will result in harsh disciplinary measures. The Warden/Coordinating Warden reserves the right to enter the rooms if there is a suspected violation of hostel policies or illegal activity based on a security risk.

The hostel administration may from time to time set forth specific rules for the hostellers to follow. No student should leave their room throughout the night, unless there are extraordinary circumstances, and the warden has given their prior written consent. Any student wishing to leave the campus, whether briefly or otherwise, must acquire the warden's written consent. Those asking for permission must provide both the destination and the date and hour of their expected leave and return.

  • It is encouraged that students refrain from partying, playing loud music, singing openly, shouting, or creating any other disturbances that could draw the attention of fellow hostellers.
  • Powerful cars are not permitted on university property by students. Allowed vehicles are bicycles.
  • Entry hours are limited to 7:00 PM at the main gate. A record of student attendance is kept at the hostels. Every hostel resident is required to verify their daily attendance with the night caretaker.
  • Both smoking and drinking are prohibited on campus and in the dorms.
  • Policies against ragging and drug usage are carefully followed.
  • All types of pets are not allowed inside the hostels. It is not permissible to feed stray dogs or cats on the hostel grounds.
  • In the hostel grounds, male visitors are not permitted to visit female students.
  • Parents are required to provide the name of a nearby guardian for their children.
  • It is advisable that students do not keep big sums of money or valuables in their dorm rooms. The Institute disclaims any liability for any loss of the hostellers' pricey personal property.
