NATA is the qualifying entrance exam for candidates aspiring to secure admission in Architecture courses offered by different colleges/ institutes across the country.
NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture ) is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admissions to five years BArch degree courses. The phase-1 NATA 2021 exam was conducted on April 10 and phase-2 is scheduled to be conducted on June 12, 2021. View NATA 2021 important dates here.

1. Sir J J College of Architecture, Mumbai
Established in 1910, affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Sir J J College of Architecture is one of the top three architecture colleges across the country. The college is well equipped in two buildings along with a small workshop for learning of its students. Prospect students are given admission on the basis of their performance in NATA/ JEE entrance exams.
2. Department of Architecture, IIT Roorkee
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee introduced its five-year BArch programme in 1956. The course offers a wide range of learning from faculty & textbook guidance to other collaboration programmes. The programmes include students and faculty exchange, internship programme and joint research activities for its students.
The college is also known for its other architectural programmes which include Masters Degree in Architecture (MArch.) and Masters Degree in Urban and Rural Planning (MURP).
Established in 1961, the college is affiliated to Panjab University. The campus spread over a wide area of 20,000 square meters, provide various facilities to students like a hostel, gym, cricket ground and basketball court.
For the first three years, the students are encouraged to learn through tutorials, theoretical subjects, studio work and workshop practice to acquire basic knowledge & skills followed by six months of practical training and thesis.
4. Department of Architecture, NIT Tiruchirapalli
This public engineering and technology university has been ranked fourth amongst the top ten architectural colleges by Outlook in 2012. The college offers various undergraduate programmes of which B.Arch is the architecture course.
The course includes learning basic architectural skills and knowledge, along with learning computer software such as breeze, daylight, 3D Studio Max, AutoCAD (2007) etc. that help students to shape their career.
5. Department of Architecture, NIT Calicut
The National Institute of Technology Calicut which was set up in 1961 as Regional Engineering College Calicut (CREC) is known for its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes offered to its students.
The Department of Architecture provides a strong foundation in terms of providing basic architectural knowledge that produces knowledgeable and successful engineers.
6. Department of Architecture, BIT, Mersa
Established in the year 1993 and ranked amongst the top ten architectural colleges across the country, the Department of Architecture in Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) offers Bachelors in Architecture.
In this programme, the students are exposed to theoretical knowledge along with application-based lab subjects mentioned in the curriculum. During the final year, students are expected to work upon the Practical Training.
7. R V School of Architecture, RVCE, Bangalore
Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE) is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and was established in 1963. The college consists of eleven departments of engineering streams along with B.Arch as one of its disciplines.
The school of architecture in RVECE is spread over an area of around 4000 square meters providing students with five studios, computer labs and the latest architectural software.
8. Sinhgad College of Architecture
The Sinhgad College of Architecture (SCOA), affiliated to the University of Pune, offers B.Arch programmes to its students. Within twelve years, the college has step among the top ten colleges across the country.
The college aims to provide beyond the classroom studies which makes it unique from the rest of the colleges. It offers its students with guest lectures, extra classes and regular workshops to help them in learning the programme at their own pace.
9. Rizvi College of Architecture (RCA)
Affiliated to the University of Mumbai, the college is located in Bandra West, Bombay. The campus provides facilities including five studios, an exhibition hall, computer centres with the latest software, workshop, resource centre, library and climatological laboratory offered to its students.
10. School of Planning and Architecture
Located in Delhi, the school of planning and architecture is ranked amongst the top ten architectural colleges across the country. Affiliated to the University of Delhi, the institute was granted deemed university status.
The campus consists of two blocks completely dedicated to students’ learning. Besides the Bachelor programme in Architecture, the institute offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes.

Absolutely, either NATA or JEE Paper 2 (B.Arch Aptitude Test) is compulsory for admission into Chandigarh University's architecture program.
