However, the university does not conduct any entrance exams on its own, but it accepts a few state/ national-level entrances conducted by West Bengal state. Kalyani University admissions are both merit and entrance-based for respective UG and PG courses. For a few UG courses such as B.Ed, BSc, MA, etc., admissions are offered based on candidates' merit scores obtained in their previous qualifying exam.
