Additionally, candidates can access the BBA entrance exam preparation guide available here to know the important tips and tricks to prepare, the BBA entrance exam syllabus and more.

Q:   What questions are asked across sections in NPAT exam?
A:

The NPAT exam consists of three sections, each section with a different set of question types. Three sections of NMIMS-NPAT exam includes Verbal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning.

Verbal Reasoning section tests the ability to understand and interpret written material. The questions in the section are based on the following types:

  • Identify the main idea of a passage
  • Find the word meaning in context
  • Identifying relationships between ideas within a passage
  • Make inferences from a passage
  • Analyse the structure of a passage
  • MCQs gauge grammar and vocabulary

Logical Reasoning section of NPAT exam tests the ability to think logically and solve problems. The questions in this section are designed to ask the following:

  • Identify patterns
  • Complete sequences
  • Analyse arguments
  • Draw inferences
  • Solve problems based critical thinking skills

Quantitative Reasoning section has questions to test the ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts. The questions in this section will ask candidates to:

  • Solve equations
  • Work with fractions and decimals
  • Calculate percentages
  • Interprets graphs and charts
  • Solve word problems, etc.

The NPAT exam syllabus is not confined to the topics mentioned above. Candidates may come across questions within the section across varied topics. Therefore, candidates must try and solve different types of questions from these three sections discussed above.

Q:   What are some NPAT sample questions from Logical Reasoning section?
A:

Logical Reasoning section of the NPAT exam comprises questions to analyse critical thinking skills of the candidates. Here are some of the questions asked in the NPAT exam from Logical Reasoning section:

  • What is the next number in the sequence 2, 4, 6, 8, 10?
  • What number should replace the question mark in the series 5, 8, 13, 18, 23?
  • Is the following argument valid? If so, why? If not, why not?
  • What can you infer from the following statement? "All cats are mammals."
  • What is the value of x in the equation x + 5 = 10?
  • If the given statement is true, decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the statement

The question type in the NPAT Logical Reasoning section is not confined to the above questions. Therefore, candidates must practise Logical Reasoning questions from varied sources, including past question papers for different competitive exams.

The difficulty level of the questions in the NPAT exam is moderate and will vary from the questions mentioned above. The above questions are mentioned to provide an understanding on what type of questions can be expected in the NPAT Logical Reasoning exam.

Q:   What are some NPAT sample questions from Quantitative Reasoning?
A:

NPAT questions from Quantitative Reasoning section are objective type. Candidates have to choose one correct response from four answer options. The type of questions in NPAT Quantitative Reasoning section are as follows:

  • Solve for x in the equation x + 2 = 5.
  • Convert 1/2 to a decimal.
  • What is 15% of 100?
  • What does the graph below represent?
  • A train travels 100 miles in 2 hours. What is the train's average speed?

The difficulty level of the questions mentioned here may not be the same. The questions here is to provide an idea about the type of questions appearing in NPAT exam. Based on the previous exam sessions, candidates can expect the NPAT question paper having a moderate difficulty level.

Q:   What are some NPAT sample questions from Verbal Reasoning section?
A:

All questions from the Verbal reasoning section are objective type with four answer options. Out of four options, one answer is correct. Here are some examples of specific question types that are typically asked in Verbal Reasoning section of NPAT exam:

  • What is the main point that the author is trying to make?
  • What does the word "xyz" mean in the passage?
  • What is the synonym of the word "xyz" from the above passage?
  • How does the second sentence relate to the first sentence?
  • What can you infer about the author's opinion based on the passage?
  • How is the passage organised?

Besides the Reading Comprehension based questions, candidates will come across MCQs from vocabulary as well as grammar.

The difficulty level of the questions mentioned here will not be the same. The questions here is to provide an idea about the type of questions appearing in Verbal Reasoning section of the NPAT exam. Candidates can expect NPAT exam to have a moderate difficulty standards.
