NPAT Preparation Tips 2026: SVKM's NMIMS conducts NPAT 2026 exam within a test window of 100+ days. Candidates can take the NPAT exam up to three times in one academic session. NPAT Syllabus PDF 2026

NPAT 2026 exam has three sections, Quantitative & Numerical Ability, Reasoning & General Intelligence, and Proficiency in English Language. Candidates who prepare as per the NPAT syllabus tend to score better in the exam. All questions are based on NPAT 2026 syllabus. NPAT syllabus and difficulty level of the questions is similar to the SAT exam.

Quantitative and Numerical Ability

To solve the questions in this section, it is important to memorise various mathematical formulas. Questions will be from Percentage, Profit and Loss, Discount, Compound Interest & Annuities, Ration and Proportions, Basic Algebraic Identities, Equations- Linear, Measures of Dispersion, Mean, Mode, Identities, Heights, and other important topics. As NPAT is a speed-based test, test takers must learn the shortcut formulas, over-elaborate, and time-consuming methods. This can turn out to be handy to derive answers in a short span of time.

Reasoning and General Intelligence

In this section, in order to solve questions that are based on critical thinking, test takers should try to analyse the roles and conditions and based on it, solve the questions. For questions related to problem-solving, try to analyse the information and assimilate them in a suitable form to answer those questions.

While solving questions from the verbal and logical reasoning section, test takers can derive conclusions from the logical premises or assess the validity of arguments based on statements of the facts. In the Data Sufficiency section, analyse whether the information provided is sufficient to answer the questions or whether additional information is required. In the numerical reasoning section, identify the class and sub-class relationship within a given group of items and illustrate it in diagrams for comprehension.

Test takers can answer questions from Data Interpretation by using the information provided in the graphs and charts. While in order to solve questions from the Spatial Reasoning, select a figure from the alternatives that match with the relationship specified by the given figural pair. As much as possible, try to analyze the common quality in figures to be able to match them or find the odd one out. Discover common patterns available in the formation of figures in a sequence in order to complete the series/identify the missing figures.

Proficiency in English Language

In this section, test takers need to recognise grammatical structure and usage, use prepositions, determiners, connectives, tenses appropriately. Grasping the meaning of underlined words in sentences, using appropriate words in given context, put ideas into logical sequences by putting the jumbled sentences in the correct order. In order to solve questions from the reading comprehension section, it is important for the test takers to locate information, grasp ideas, identify and interpret relationships and ideas, moods, characteristics, tone of the passage, infer, get the central theme and evaluate given passage.

Read novels and newspapers; additionally, take online grammar tests to be proficient in English. This section, if answered well, can help test takers fetch full marks easily.
