NPAT 2026: SVKMs NMIMS administers NPAT exam for admission to BA, BBA, BCom, BSc, among other courses after Class 12. NMIMS NPAT exam will be held from until May 31. Candidates who pass Class 12 with a minimum aggregate score of 60 per cent are eligible for the NMIMS NPAT exam. NPAT 2026 is being conducted thrice during the exam window. As per the NPAT 2026 exam process, candidates can attempt the NPAT exam thrice during the test window. Best of three NPAT scores will be considered for NMIMS admission. The NPAT exam consists of three sections, each section with a different set of question types. Three sections of NMIMS-NPAT exam includes Verbal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning.
Verbal Reasoning section tests the ability to understand and interpret written material. The questions in the section are based on the following types:
- Identify the main idea of a passage
- Find the word meaning in context
- Identifying relationships between ideas within a passage
- Make inferences from a passage
- Analyse the structure of a passage
- MCQs gauge grammar and vocabulary
Logical Reasoning section of NPAT exam tests the ability to think logically and solve problems. The questions in this section are designed to ask the following:
- Identify patterns
- Complete sequences
- Analyse arguments

- Solve problems based critical thinking skills
Quantitative Reasoning section has questions to test the ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts. The questions in this section will ask candidates to:
- Solve equations
- Work with fractions and decimals
- Calculate percentages
- Interprets graphs and charts
- Solve word problems, etc.
The NPAT exam syllabus is not confined to the topics mentioned above. Candidates may come across questions within the section across varied topics. Therefore, candidates must try and solve different types of questions from these three sections discussed above.
As per the NPAT exam pattern, a total of 120 questions are asked from three exam sections collectively. Each section of NMAT exam has identIcal question weightage. The sections for NPAT exam with the number of questions are as follows:
- Verbal Reasoning: 40
- Logical Reasoning: 40
- Quantitative Reasoning: 40
Candidates need to answer all the questions within 100 minutes. The 100 minute time-frame of NPAT exam is not divided into sectional time frames. Questions under the NPAT exam sections can be answered without any boundation of navigation.

NPAT Eligibility Criteria 2026
Aspirants seeking admission via NPAT 2026 must meet the eligibility requirements prior to submitting the online application. Failure to satisfy the NPAT 2026 eligibility criteria will result in the rejection of their application. The following section outlines the NPAT 2026 eligibility criteria.
Educational Qualification for NPAT Exam:
- Candidates passing Class 12 or an equivalent examination are eligible for NPAT exam. Those possessing an International Baccalaureate Diploma are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates who did not pass the 10+2 or equivalent exam in the first attempt are ineligible for the NPAT 2026 exam.
- Qualifiers of 10+2 level through open or distance learning (ODL) can apply for the NPAT exam, provided their school is recognised by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
- Candidates must obtain a minimum aggregate score of 60 per cent in Class 12.
- Candidates with an IB Diploma are eligible if they studied Mathematics or Statistics as major subjects.
Age Limit for NPAT Exam:
Candidates having an age greater than 25 years are ineligible to appear for the NPAT exam. SVKMs has not specified any lower age limit for NPAT 2026.

- What is the value of x in the equation x + 5 = 10?
- If the given statement is true, decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the statement
The question type in the NPAT Logical Reasoning section is not confined to the above questions. Therefore, candidates must practise Logical Reasoning questions from varied sources, including past question papers for different competitive exams.
The difficulty level of the questions in the NPAT exam is moderate and will vary from the questions mentioned above. The above questions are mentioned to provide an understanding on what type of questions can be expected in the NPAT Logical Reasoning exam.
All questions from the Verbal reasoning section are objective type with four answer options. Out of four options, one answer is correct. Here are some examples of specific question types that are typically asked in Verbal Reasoning section of NPAT exam:
- What is the main point that the author is trying to make?
- What does the word "xyz" mean in the passage?
- What is the synonym of the word "xyz" from the above passage?
- How does the second sentence relate to the first sentence?
- What can you infer about the author's opinion based on the passage?
- How is the passage organised?
Besides the Reading Comprehension based questions, candidates will come across MCQs from vocabulary as well as grammar.
