SET application process 2026 has started. The SET exam 2026 will be conducted on May 2 and May 10, 2026.

The SET exam application schedule was announced online. The SET exam application process begins with filling out the SET exam application form and proceeding on to the fee payment. Candidates need to submit their SET application form 2026 before the deadline. Candidates have to choose the their preferred institutes they wish to apply for admissions through SET exam score at the time of registration. Candidates are eligible for admission to only those institutes that they had selected in the SET application form.

Students have to go to SET exam website and click on Apply for SET button. They have to register by using their name, mobile number, date of birth, etc. After filling registration forms, students have to login again with application number and password. Upload documents and pay application fee. 
The part 2 of SET application process includes paying the institute fee, choosing the preferred city and institute.

Yes, international students can apply for the SET under the Foreign Nationals category and seek admission to undergraduate programmes offered by Symbiosis International University.

SET Exam Application Form 2026: Important Points to Remember

Students must remember following points when filling SET application form 2026:

  • Submitting a complete SET exam application form is important to be eligible to take SET exam 2026. If it is half filled, the form will be rejected at screening level. Such students will not get the SET exam admit card. 
  • Students should check the details entered in the SET form 2026. The details should be valid and true such as academic qualifications, date of birth, father’s/mother’s name, permanent address, email ID and phone number, etc. 
  • Photograph should not be older than 3 months. The photograph uploaded in application form should match the one which is to be carried to SET exam centre
  • The allocation of test centres will be done on a first come first served basis.

How To Apply for SET Exam 2026?

Follow the process below to apply for SET exam

  • Open SET website in a new browser

  • Click Apply for SET exam

  • Then, click New User Registration

  • Students will be redirected to Part I of SET exam application process, where they have to fill details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, gender, etc. 
  • Choose your preferred SET 2026 test date, city and upload photograph
  • Check details filled and click Save and Continue to submit it
  • Enter 6 digit one time password or OTP received on registered mobile number

SET Application Process 2026 (Part II)

Check part 2 of SET application process below:

  • Verify OTP received on the registered email ID
  • Pay the SET application fee and proceed to the Part II of the SET registration process
  • Now, fill details such as communication address, nationality, and details of parents or guardians, and select the preferred SET colleges
  • Studens will now be redirected to the institute fee payment gateway. They need to pay INR 1000 for each institute they have selected during the application process
  • Complete the SET application form by paying the institute fee and taking a print out of the SET application form 2026

Candidates can choose any of the following four payment modes.

3. Indian Bank Payment Gateway

4. Demand Draft:

To make payment through Demand Draft, follow process given below:

  • Get a demand draft from any Nationalized Bank in favour of the Symbiosis Test Secretariat payable at Pune

  • Choose the mode of Payment as DD Payment

  • DD should reach the authorities by 5 PM on the last date of SET exam registration 
  • Take a print of payment advice form, fill DD Details, sign and send it with DD to Symbiosis Test Secretariat at:

If any student plans to appear for only one session of the SET exam, they will have to submit a Demand Draft of INR 2250 and if they plan to appear for both sessions, then they will have to submit a DD of INR 4500. Symbiosis Test Secretariat will authenticate the details of the Demand Draft and will send an email confirming the payment. They can access their SET admit card 2026 only if they have received the application fee payment confirmation.

SET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026

The SET exam eligibility criteria 2026 state that:

  • Candidates should have cleared Class 12 in any stream from a recignised board or school
  • They should have scored at least 50 per cent in Class 12. SC, ST category should have scored at least 45 per cent
  • Students who are appearing for Class 12 boards or are waiting for results can also apply provisionally
  • A student who has completed Class 12 or equivalent from any Foreign Board should obtain an equivalent certificate from Association of Indian Universities.

The SET application is not refunded under any circumstances. Once paid, the SET registration fee will be non refundable. In case a student is unable to appear for the SET exam, he/she will not be refunded the money spent as the SET application fee.

Students should check the eligibility criteria, exam information and details before applying for the SET exam and paying the application fee.

Q:   Who conducts the SET exam?
A: 

The SET exam is conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed-to-be) University (SIU). SIU is responsible for organizing the exam, setting the exam pattern, conducting the test, and releasing the results. They are also involved in coordinating the admission process based on the SET scores for various undergraduate programmes offered by participating institutes. The exam is a gateway for admissions to various UG courses such as BBA. 

SIU also conducts entrance exams for courses such as Management, Law, Engineering, Economics, Mass Communication, Computer Studies and Liberal Arts. Earlier, the exam was also conducted for B.Sc Culinary Arts but this exam was scrapped in the year 2021 for this course.

Q:   What is SET exam application fee?
A: 

Application fee for SET exam is INR 2250 for one session. Candidates also need to pay institution fee of INR 1000 per institute.

Q:   I belong to a reserved category. Do I have to fill out a different SET application form?

No, candidates will not need to fill a different SET application form if they belong to a reserved category. The SET application form is the same for all candidates, and they have to choose their category during registration process (Part 1).

Q:   Can I apply for more than one course in the SET application form?
A: 

SET exam is conducted only for admission to the BBA programmes offered at Symbiosis institues. Candidates seeking BBA admissions can apply for the SET exam by filling the SET application form. The other exams for different courses include SLAT, SITEEE, SNAP, etc. for admission to SIU. 

Q:   Can the SET Applications filled offline?
A: 

No. Symbiosis University does not facilitate the SET application process in an offline mode. Candidates can register themselves for SET exam in an online mode only

Q:   Can the eligibility for SET exam be changed?

SET 2026 eligibility criteria has not been changed. Candidates should check eligibility criteria carefully before registration. 

Q:   Is there any age limit for SET entrance exam? I am Diploma engineering student.
A: 

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is an undergraduate entrance exam conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). SET does not have a specific age limit for candidates appearing for the Symbiosis BBA exam. Students from any stream can appear for the SET exam provided they fulfil the academic criteria. There is no age limit for students taking the SET exam.

Q:   Where can I check the SET syllabus?
A: 

Students can download the SET syllabus PDF from Shiksha's website. SIU does not release an official exam syllabus, but based on the trends and history, Shiksha has prepared the SET syllabus. 

Q:   How many attempts will be allowed for the SET 2026 exam?
A: 

Candidates can only attempt SET exam twice on given test dates. The SET exam 2026 will be conducted on May 2 and 10. 

Candidates can mention their number of attempts while filling the SET application form. However, they have to pay the application fee per session. Thus, candidates who are sure of making multiple attempts only they should apply for multiple sessions as the fee amount is non-refundable.

IPMAT is usually considered a bit more difficult than SET, as IPMAT exam has advanced mathematics and is calculation intensive. The exam also have a sectional time limit. But, SET is easier in terms of difficulty, does not have negative marking or sectional timings.
