What After SET Results 2026? Know WAT/GD/PI Process

SET score is valid for admission for the same academic year in which the candidate has taken the exam. For example, SET 2026 score will be valid for admission for 2026-2029 BBA batch only. If a candidate wishes to drop a year after taking the SET exam, then they will have to appear for the exam once again next year. They should however check the eligibility or selection criteria to have a clarity of SET score of which session/phase is valid for admission in which academic year. Candidates taking the SET exam, the test takers must not try to use their score for admission more than one year after appearing for it. They should appear for it again and use the latest score for admission.

SET score is determined on the basis of correct answers marked by aspirants in the SET exam. For each correct answer, candidates are awarded one mark. For an incorrect answer, there is no negative marking. And also no marks will be awarded or deducted for unaswered questions. Candidates who match the SET cutoff criteria are further called for the Personal Interview round.

SET cutoff is released by the participating institutes after the announcement of the SET result. The ten prestigious Symbiosis Institutes accept SET scores. SET scores are accepted for various undergraduate programmes offered by these institutes. The SET cut-off is different for all institutes and courses. These cutoffs will be available on the official website of each participating college or institute. Candidates who have appeared for the SET exam must meet the cutoff of their preferred institute in order to gain admission to that particular institute.

According to the previous cutoff trends, the SET cutoff generally range from 85-89 for the General category. Last year, the highest SET cutoff was 89 for the General category. Shortlisted candidates who match the cutoff will be called for further selection procedure, which includes, Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

The expected Symbiosis SET cutoff 2026 for different categories is as follows:

• General: 30 to 36 marks
• SC: 27 to 34 marks
• ST: 25 to 31 marks
• OBC: 29 to 35 marks

The SET scores are accepted by the ten prestigious institutes of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Candidates need to meet the cutoff criteria of the participating institutes to take admissions. The admission process included Written Ability Test (What), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Other factors such as academic record, work experience, etc. were also considered for admission to various institutes which accept SET scores. SET score is only the first parameter on which the candidates are shortlisted for admission. The institutes first shortlist the candidates for What, GD and PI on the basis of their SET scores, marks obtained in Class 10 and Class 12. The SET counselling is conducted in online as well as offline mode. Candidates who have qualified the SET exam must register themselves online through the official website for the SET counselling procedure. However, the Personal Interview, Written Ability Test and document verification round under the counselling process is held offline at the designated centres. Candidates who have met the SET cutoff, need to visit the centre for document verification as per their rank and other selection rounds such as PI and WAT. The seat allotment process is also conducted online based on the merit, category, and choices filled by the candidate during the registration process. The entire SET counselling process except the PI, WAT and document verification round is conducted in online mode.
