What is SET?
Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to Symbiosis institutes. The SET exam is a gateway for admissions to undergraduate courses such as Management, Law, Engineering, Economics, Mass Communication, Computer Studies and Liberal Arts. Earlier, the exam was also conducted for B.Sc Culinary Arts but this exam was scrapped in the year 2021 for this course. The SET exam 2023 application form, admit card and results will be available online only and there is no provision for an offline application process.

SET Exam Eligibility 2023
The following is the SET eligibility criteria 2023:
- The aspirant must have cleared Class 12 or equivalent examinations in the relevant streams from a recognised board or university with a minimum 50% aggregate ( 45% for SC/ST category students).
- Candidates in Class 12 or awaiting their Class 12 results are also eligible to apply but they will have to submit a passing certificate.
- A candidate who has completed Class 12 or equivalent examination from any Foreign Board must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Reservation Criteria
The following are the reservation rules that are followed while admitting Indian students:

SET Exam 2023 Application Process
SET 2023 application is an online process. The SET application forms 2023 are available online on the official website of SET (https://www.set-test.org/). Students who wish to appear for the SET 2023 exam can fill out the online application form. The SET exam application process includes the following steps:
- Creating a new user profile by filling out the SET exam registration form with details such as name, date of birth, gender, email ID and phone number, etc.
- Uploading the required documents in the prescribed format.
- Confirming the registration via one-time password (OTP).
- Payment of the application fee via credit/debit card, internet banking or UPI.
- Filling out the SET application form with the necessary details such as category, test centres, institutions, etc.
- Paying the institute fee and taking a printout of the complete application form and payment receipt.

SET 2023 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
As mentioned above, SET is an online exam that has four sections- General English, Quantitative, General Awareness and Analytical and Logical Reasoning. There will be a total of 60 questions in the SET 2023 exam. Each question carried one mark. Check the table below, for highlights of the SET syllabus and exam pattern:

SET Preparation 2023
Candidates planning to appear for the SET 2023 exam must start the preparation at least six months before the test date so that they get enough time to cover all the aspects of SET preparation. Knowing the SET syllabus and exam pattern is important. They must also devise a preparation plan which should include:
- Covering SET syllabus
- Practicing mock tests and sample papers
- Revision of important topics in the last few days before the exam

SET Admission Process 2023
SET exam 2023 is a three-step process that includes application submission, SET 2023 exam and Personal Interview/Written Ability Test.
The candidates have to apply for the SET exam by filling SET 2023 application form which is available online on the official website. They need to register on the SET website as new users. On successful registration, the candidates will get access to the application form. Payment of the application fee of INR 1,950 has to be made online only through net banking or by credit/debit card.
STEP 2: Download SET admit card
SET admit cards will only be issued to registered students. Admit cards for SET will be available on June 22, 2023. The candidates can download their respective admit cards from the official website.

STEP 3: Appear for SET exam 2023
SET exam 2023 will be held on the scheduled dates in computer-based test (CBT) mode in various test centres across the country. The candidates will be required to sit for the exam along with the admit cards and one identity proof (Driving license, Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Passport). Due to the prevailing coronavirus situation in the country, exam pattern and mode of examination may change.
STEP 4: Check SET result 2023
SET result 2023 will be announced on the official website. Selected candidates will be called for WAT/PI round. Each institute released its own cut-off post the announcement of SET 2023 result. The candidates are advised to check individual websites.
STEP 5: Appear for SET WAT/PI
The candidate must carry all the relevant documents (original and photocopy) to the WAT/PI round. Admission will be granted on the basis of a candidate’s overall performance in SET and WAT/PI. Last year WAT was conducted on SET exam day. Candidates were provided 30 minutes for WAT.
SET Exam Admit Card 2023
SET 2023 admit cards will be released on the official website for candidates to download the same online. Candidates who have registered successfully will be able to download the SET admit card. Given below is the process to download the SET exam admit card 2023:
- Visit the official website of SET (https://www.set-test.org/)
- Click on the 'Download SET admit card' link on the homepage
- Login using user ID and password.
- Click on the 'Print admit card' link.

SET Exam Day Instructions
SET will be conducted in the computer-based test mode. Candidates appearing for the exam must not only be prepared for the exam but also for the exam day. Mentioned below are some of the exam-day instructions that the candidates must follow:
- Do not forget to carry the coloured printout of the SET admit card. Digital or soft copies of the admit cards will not be accepted.
- Reach the exam centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam.
- Do not carry electronic gadgets or articles which are prohibited in the exam hall.
- Carry a valid ID proof issued by the Government of India such as an Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Voter ID or Passport.
- Always wear a mask and follow the COVID-19 protocols.

SET 2023 Results
SET 2023 results will be announced on April 24. Candidates who appear for the exam can download their scorecards online using their login credentials. Given below are the steps to know how to download the SET result 2023:
- Visit the official website of SET
- Click on the 'Download scorecard' button on the homepage
- Enter SET UserID and Password
- SET scorecards will appear on the screen. Check the scores and download the SET scorecard
SET 2023 Selection Process
The counselling process through SET will likely begin in the month of May 2023 in various colleges accepting SET scores. Candidates who appear for SET 2023 can apply to various SET accepting colleges during the application process. The counselling rounds of SET exam 2023 include Written Ability Test and Personal Interview. Candidates can fill out the registration form of the participating Symbiosis Institutes after the announcement of results and cut-off marks.
- Selection of students: Students are selected and called for further admission process on the basis of the scores obtained by them in the SET exam. Students are intimidated about the SET cutoff and they can check if they meet the cutoff criteria.
- Written Ability Test and Personal Interview: The WAT and PI schedule is announced by the individual institutes. Students will have to appear for the WAT/PI at the allotted venue and they will be judged on various criteria such as general awareness, extracurricular activities, academics and candidate-specific fields of interest, communication skills and overall personality.
- Final selection: Each candidate will be evaluated on the basis of their SET 2023 score, WAT/PI performance, academic history and other parameters for preparing the final merit list. Selected applicants will be called to complete the admission formalities.

SET Exam 2022 Analysis
The SET 2022 was conducted on July 3 in the computer-based test mode across various centres. The exam was conducted for one hour. The students who appeared for the exam said that the exam was easy to moderate. Some students found the Quantitative Aptitude the most difficult of all. The General English section was the easiest. The other sections of the SET 2023 question paper, i.e. Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge were easy to moderate. The question paper had no negative marking.
