SET exam 2026 eligibility criteria is requirement to be fulfilled by candidates for admission to the programmes offered by Symbiosis International University (SIU). The SET 2026 eligibility criteria is prescribed by SIU and the candidates who wish to appear for the SET 2026 exam have to match the criteria in order to be eligible to appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Test 2026. The Symbiosis Entrance Test dates for 2026 have been announced by SIU. SET 2026 will be conducted on May 2, 2026, and May 10, 2026, in the computer-based test mode. SET application form 2026 was released on December 12, 2025. To appear for the Symbiosis SET 2026, it is important to meet the SET BBA eligibility criteria. SET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026

  • The candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination in the relevant stream from a recognised board
  • The candidates must have secured at least 50 per cent aggregate in Class 12
  • 5% relaxation will be given to candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, i.e. they must have secured at least 45 per cent aggregate in Class 12
  • Candidates in Class 12 or who are waiting for the results are also eligible to apply for the SET exam provisionally
  • Candidates who have completed Class 12 or equivalent from any Foreign Board and have obtained an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU) are also eligible
Q:   Who can apply for SET exam?
A:
Candidates who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with at least 50 per cent aggregate are eligible to apply for SET exam. There is no age limit to appear for the exam. Candidates in the Class 12 or are awaiting the Class 12 results can also apply provisionally and present the marksheet at the time of admission. The candidate who has completed class 12 or equivalent from a foreign board and must have obtained an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is eligible.

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is an undergraduate entrance exam conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). SET does not have a specific age limit for candidates appearing for the Symbiosis BBA exam. Students from any stream can appear for the SET exam provided they fulfil the academic criteria. There is no age limit for students taking the SET exam.

Q:   How to apply for the SET exam?
A:

Follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the SET exam:

Students have to go to SET exam website and click on Apply for SET button. They have to register by using their name, mobile number, date of birth, etc. After filling registration forms, students have to login again with application number and password. Upload documents and pay application fee. 
The part 2 of SET application process includes paying the institute fee, choosing the preferred city and institute. 

SET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Age Limit

There is no maximum age limit prescribed for appearing for the SET exam 2026. However, students should have completed, or will be completing Class 12 before the SIU admissions. So, a minimum of 17 years of age is expected for SET BBA Admissions 2026.

The reservation policy for the SET exam is per the UGC guidelines. The SIU reservation policy is as under:

Q:   Can international students apply for SET?
A:

Yes, international students can apply for the SET under the Foreign Nationals category and seek admission to undergraduate programmes offered by Symbiosis International University. 

Q:   How many test centres can I choose for SET exam?
A:

Candidates can choose upto three SET test cities according to their preference. Candidates must very carefully select the cities as once the SET application form is submitted, they can't change city preference. They should choose the first city of preference as their hometome or where they are residing as the exam authorities will likely allot the test centres to candidates in their first city of preference. Candidates are allotted a test centre in second or third preference only if the seats have been filled or the exam centre has been cancelled at that location. Candidates should know that the SET test cities cannot be changed once the form is submitted even during the form correction window. 

Q:   How many attempts will be allowed for the SET 2026 exam?
A:

Candidates can only attempt SET exam twice on given test dates. The SET exam 2026 will be conducted on May 2 and 10. 

Candidates can mention their number of attempts while filling the SET application form. However, they have to pay the application fee per session. Thus, candidates who are sure of making multiple attempts only they should apply for multiple sessions as the fee amount is non-refundable.  

SET Reservation Policy: Important Points to Remember

Check out the important points mentioned below for the SET exam 2026 reservation policy:

  • Candidates applying for the reservation criteria will be required to submit the supporting documents issued by a competent authority at the time of the Personal Interview(PI) or Written Ability Test (WAT)
  • Candidates who are applying under Armed Forces Dependents will be considered under the OPEN/General category
  • Candidates applying under the Differently-abled category will have to get the disability authenticated from the Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC). Only after authentication by SCHC, the admission will be considered regularized.
  • Applicants who fall under more than one category need to choose one category while filling the SET exam application form and the benefits and entitlements will be considered according to the selected category throughout the SET admission process.
  • If the information provided by the applicant is found incorrect at any point in time, then the SIU holds the authority to cancel the candidature of that applicant

SET Exam 2026 Reservation Policy: Nagpur Domicile

The candidates who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of five years or more and have completed Class 12 or equivalent from the Maharashtra Board will have 25% seats reserved. They need to carry the following documents at the time of PI and WAT rounds:

  • Domicile certificate issued by the competent authority
  • Class 12 mark sheet. Candidates appearing for the Class 12 exam have to submit a Bonafide certificate from the current institute along with a Class 10 mark sheet.

No, direct admission to BBA programme at SIU is not possible. Admission to SIU is based on SET scores, Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test.

Final merit list is prepared based on performance in SET, WAT and PI.
