SET Counselling 2025: Dates, Schedule for Personal Interviews, Fees, Procedure

To be eligible for SET counselling, candidates must fulfil the following criteria:

1. Candidate must have qualified for the SET exam by obtaining the minimum qualifying marks and matching the cutoff criteria
2. Candidates must have completed their Class 12 from a recognised board or institute.
3. Candidate must have scored at least 50% aggregate or equivalent (45% for reserved categories) in Class 12
4. Candidate must meet the eligibility criteria for the desired course and college for admission based on SET.
5. The candidate must have all the required documents at the time of document verification.

Candidates who fulfil the above eligibility criteria can participate in SET counseling process. Such candidates can apply for admission to various undergraduate courses offered by colleges accepting SET scores.

SET score is valid for admission for the same academic year in which the candidate has taken the exam. For example, SET 2025 score will be valid for admission for 2025-2028 BBA batch only. If a candidate wishes to drop a year after taking the SET exam, then they will have to appear for the exam once again next year. They should however check the eligibility or selection criteria to have a clarity of SET score of which session/phase is valid for admission in which academic year. Candidates taking the SET exam, the test takers must not try to use their score for admission more than one year after appearing for it. They should appear for it again and use the latest score for admission.

Candidates have to choose their preferred institutes during the SET application process and pay the requisite fee. After the SET results are announced, the SET participating institutes will release their cutoffs. If the candidate matches the cutoff, they will be required to appear for the further admission process which includes the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). 

Aspirants do not need to call the institutes nor will they get a call from the institutes. Candidates will be required fill out the registration form for the participating Symbiosis Institutes after the announcement of results and cut-off marks according to the schedule released on their official websites. 

No, IIMs do not accept SET test scores for admission. Iims conduct Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to MBA programmes. Iims such as IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak, which offer integrated management programmes, accept IPMAT scores conducted by them. SET cutoff is released by the participating institutes after the announcement of the SET result. The ten prestigious Symbiosis Institutes accept SET scores. SET scores are accepted for various undergraduate programmes offered by these institutes. The SET cut-off is different for all institutes and courses. These cutoffs will be available on the official website of each participating college or institute. Candidates who have appeared for the SET exam must meet the cutoff of their preferred institute in order to gain admission to that particular institute.

According to the previous cutoff trends, the SET cutoff generally range from 85-89 for the General category. Last year, the highest SET cutoff was 89 for the General category. Shortlisted candidates who match the cutoff will be called for further selection procedure, which includes, Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

2. Click on the 'Onlune Application' button on the homepage
3. Fill in the registration form with the required details such as candidate's name, date of birth, SET scores, etc. 
4. Upload the required documents and submit
5. Finally, pay the application fee and download the confirmation letter 

Previously, the SET exam had 150 questions. They were reduced to 60 multiple-choice questions in the year 2021, and the duration of the exam was also reduced  proportionally. Yes, it is mandatory for all candidates to attend the document verification round as part of the SETcounselling process. During the document verification process, candidates must present their original documents for verification and provide their biometric details. The purpose of document verification is to ensure that the candidate is eligible for admission to the selected course and to avoid fraudulent activities. Candidates who do not attend the document verification round will be marked ineligible from the admission process through SET scores. Such candidates will not be considered for the seat allotment round also. Therefore, it is important for applicants to attend the document verification process physically as per the schedule announced by the authorities. It is also crucial to carry all the required documents in original along with photocopies to the document verification round. Those who fail to produce the required documents will not be allowed to participate in the further counselling process which includes PI and WAT rounds.

The SET counselling is conducted in online as well as offline mode. Candidates who have qualified the SET exam must register themselves online through the official website for the SET counselling procedure. However, the Personal Interview, Written Ability Test and document verification round under the counselling process is held offline at the designated centres. Candidates who have met the SET cutoff, need to visit the centre for document verification as per their rank and other selection rounds such as PI and WAT. The seat allotment process is also conducted online based on the merit, category, and choices filled by the candidate during the registration process. The entire SET counselling process except the PI, WAT and document verification round is conducted in online mode.
