Overview

SET exam centre 2026 is the venues/cities where the Symbiosis SET exam 2026 will be conducted. The SET exam is conducted in over 80 cities across the country. The SET exam 2026 was conducted in computer-based Test mode (CBT) on May 2, 2026, and May 10, 2026. The candidates have to visit allotted SET test centre to take the exam. SET exam centre will be decided by the exam conducting body. Candidates can choose up to three preferred SET exam centres while filling SET application form 2026. How to Choose SET 2026 Test Centre?

Candidates will be allotted the SET exam centre in the city of their preference. Check out the steps below to know how to select the preferred test city in the SET exam 2026 application form.

  • Candidates need to register themselves on the official website of SET.
  • After successful registration, candidates need to fill in the SET application form using their login credentials.
  • Candidates can select up to three test centres while filling out the SET registration form 2026.
  • Candidates must select test centres in order of their preference, i.e. from first to third.
  • Fill up the entire form, pay the application fee and finally click 'Submit'.

Q:   How many test centres can I choose for SET exam?
A: 

Candidates can choose upto three SET test cities according to their preference. Candidates must very carefully select the cities as once the SET application form is submitted, they can't change city preference. They should choose the first city of preference as their hometome or where they are residing as the exam authorities will likely allot the test centres to candidates in their first city of preference. Candidates are allotted a test centre in second or third preference only if the seats have been filled or the exam centre has been cancelled at that location. Candidates should know that the SET test cities cannot be changed once the form is submitted even during the form correction window. 

Q:   How can I select the SET exam centre while filling the SET application form?
A: 

During the SET registration process, candidates need to select their SET exam centre. The candidates can choose upto three SET exam centres  for the SET exam centre allotment. Candidates should choose the test centres in the order of their preference, as they cannot be changed after the SET exam application form submission. Follow the steps mentioned below to know how to select the SET exam centre:

  • Register on the official website of SET.
  • Login to the candidate portal and fill the rest of the SET application form
  • Under the 'test centre' tab, choose the preferred test cities.
  • Candidates can select up to three test centres while filling out the SET exam application form 2024.
  • Candidates must select test centres in order of their preference, i.e. from first to third.
  • Fill up the entire SET application form, pay the application fee and finally and click 'Submit'.
Q:   Will the SET admit card include allotted test centre details?
A: 
Yes, the SET admit card will mention all the details of the exam centre which has been allotted. Candidates must note that they will not be allowed to change the exam centre. They must reach the SET exam centre at least an hour before the exam starts to complete the frisking formalities.

Q:   What are the dont's of the SET exam day?
A: 
  1. Do not reach late to the exam centre. 

  2. Don't forget SET admit card. 

  3. Do not carry prohibited things such as electronic devices, study material, notes, bags, etc.

  4. Refrain from any form of malpractice or cheating. 

Q:   What are the dos on the SET exam day?
A: 

On the SET exam day, students have to follow certain guidelines which include reaching on time, cooperating with the exam centre staff, following instructions of the test invigilator and following the test navigation for solving the SET questions. 

SET exam day dos:

  1. Reach the examination centre at the reporting time mentioned on your SET admit card
  2. Carry two copies of the SET admit card, one photo ID card and passport size photos
  3. PwD students should carry the relevant certificates and documents as prescribed by the examination authorities. 
  4. Carry a blue or black ball point pen for signing the attendance sheet
  5. Cooperate with the test centre staff and follow instructions during entry
  6. Students must write their name and roll numbers on the rough sheet provided by the invigilator and sign on it
Q:   Can I carry a watch, eatables and water to the SET exam centre? Which documents should I carry to exam centre?
A: 
Eatable and drinks are not allowed inside the SET exam centre. But, candidates must carry their personal transparent water bottle to the exam centre and follow the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour at all times. Electronic gadgets including watches, mobile phones, calculators, smart devices, etc. Are prohibited inside the SET exam centre. Candidates should carry recent passport size photograph, photo ID (original and photocopy) and SET admit card along with them to the exam centre.

Q:   When to download SET admit card?
A: 

SET admit card can only be downloaded till SET exam day. SET hall ticket was released on April 24, 2026, for the test 01 and students can download their admit card using their login details. It is a mandatory document which is to be carried to test centre for entry in exam hall.

SET test 02 admit card was released on April 30, 2026. 

Q:   Can I show a soft copy of the SET admit card in the exam centre?
A: 

No, digital or soft copy of the SET admit card will not be accepted at the SET exam centre. The candidates have to carry a coloured printout of the SET admit card to the exam centre to get an entry. SET admit card is a mandatory document which is to be carried to the exam centre along with a recent coloured passport size photograph affixed to it. The photograph should match the one uploaded in the SET application form.

The examination authority does not accept digital admit card as valid document as it is to be signed and stamped by the test centre staff for proof of candidate’s attendance. One copy of the SET admit card of every candidate is also retained by the authorities, thus the need for the print out.

Q:   Can Symbiosis SET be given remotely?
A: 

No, the SET exam cannot be given remotely. Every year the SET exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode. In 2021, the exam was however conducted in the internet-based test mode because of the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since, the SET exam has always been conducted in the computer-based test mode (CBT). To take the exam, candidates have to visit the SET exam centre and take the exam online. They can choose upto three preferred SET test cities during the SET exam registration. Candidates must reach the test centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam in order to avoid any hassle on the exam and complete the frisking formalities at the exam GATE smoothly.

SET Exam Centre: Dos and Don’ts

An identification process will be conducted at every SET exam centre, hence, students must make sure that they reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam starts. The exam will begin at 10:00 AM, hence the candidates must reach by 09:00 AM. Check out the checklist of dos and don'ts that the students must follow at the SET exam centre.

Dos

  • Students must carry a coloured print of the SET admit card to the exam centre as it is a very important document without which candidates cannot enter the exam hall.
  • Digital, B/W or soft copies of the SET admit card will not be accepted.
  • The admit card is to be submitted at the time of the verification process. 
  • Students should carry a photo ID proof (original and photocopy) and two recent passport-size coloured photographs for identification purposes.

Don’ts

  • Do not carry any electronic gadgets to the exam centre, such as mobiles, laptops, calculators, etc. 
  • The exam centre gates will close 15 minutes before the exam and no one will be allowed to enter the exam hall; hence, candidates must not arrive late.
  • Candidates must not carry any eatables or drinks inside the exam centre. They are prohibited inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates must also not carry any stationery to the exam centre except a black or blue ballpoint pen.

Q:   Will I be allowed entry to the SET exam centre if I reach later than the reporting time?
A: 

The SET exam will be conducted from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates should ideally reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam starts. Hence, candidates must reach the exam centre on the time mentioned on the admit card in order to avoid any hassle. The gates will close at 11:00 AM for the SET exam. Candidates will not be allowed to enter after this. To complete the frisking formalities at the GATE and be seated by 11:20 AM, candidates should reach the centre on time. They can also leave the SET exam centre only once the exam is over. 

Q:   Can I change my exam centre after the admit card has been issued for SET?
A: 
No, candidates can not make any changes once the SET application form has been submitted and the admit card has been issued. Candidates can however, contact the exam conducing authorities if they find any error in the SET admit card. Having said that. SET exam conducting authorities reserve the right to modify, add or combine any test centre/s if required.
Q:   When will the Symbiosis SET 2026 exam be conducted?
A: 

SET 2026 exam was conducted on May 2 and May 10. SET exam was conducted in CBT test format by Symbiosis International University. Duration of exam is one hour and students can take exam at their test centre.

SET 2027 exam will likely be held in the second week of May 2027. SET exam will be conducted in CBT test format by Symbiosis International University. Duration of exam will be one hour and students can take exam at their test centre.

IPMAT is usually considered a bit more difficult than SET, as IPMAT exam has advanced mathematics and is calculation intensive. The exam also have a sectional time limit. But, SET is easier in terms of difficulty, does not have negative marking or sectional timings.

Yes, one can fill the SET application form on one day and pay the fee on another day as it is not mandatory to register for SET exam and fill the application form or pay the fee in one go.
