Is it mandatory to attend the document verification round for the UGAT counselling?

Selected candidates have to participare in document verification round where they have to provide original certificates and documents and details such as DOB, address, communication details, etc.

Will I get admission on the basis of UGAT results directly?

No, after the UGAT exam is cleared, candidates will have to go through for further selection procedure conducted by the participating institutes. The UGAT scores are accepted various colleges and universities. Candidates need to meet the cutoff criteria of the participating institutes to take admissions. The admission process includes Written Ability Test (What), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Other factors such as academic record, work experience, etc. are also considered for admission to various institutes which accept UGAT scores. UGAT score is only the first parameter on which the candidates are shortlisted for admission. The institutes first shortlist the candidates for WAT, GD and PI on the basis of their UGAT scores, marks obtained in Class 12. For the final selection, the institutes take UGAT scores, performance in GD/PI, What, Class 12 marks, work experience, academic diversity and gender diversity are taken into consideration.

What is the mode of UGAT counselling?

The UGAT counselling is conducted in online as well as offline mode. Candidates who have qualified for UGAT exam must register themselves online through the official website. However, the Personal Interview WAT/GD and document verification round under the counselling process is held offline at the designated helpline centres. Candidates who meet the UGAT cutoff, need to visit the centre for document verification as per their rank and other selection rounds such as PI and WAT. The seat allotment process is also conducted online based on the merit, category, and choices filled by the candidate during the registration process. Candidates can check their allotment status on the official website. The entire UGAT counselling process except the PI WATand document verification round is conducted in online mode.

UGAT Counselling 2026: All India Management Association, New Delhi, did not organise a centralised UGAT selection process for admission through the UGAT exam 2026. The exam conducting body released the list of participating institutes where candidates applied for admission. Candidates had the option to choose five colleges at the time of UGAT registration 2026. They were required to participate in the counselling process of the respective institutions. AIMA released the UGAT exam date and schedule for all the events related to the exam. The UGAT selection process takes place after the UGAT result is announced.
The merit list is released by the participating institutes based on the UGAT score.

Selection Procedure Through UGAT 2026

To participate in selection rounds of UGAT colleges, students need to follow below-mentioned process.

Select five AIMA participating institutes at the time of UGAT registration
After the declaration of UGAT result, candidates have to apply for their preferred institutes from the respective official websites
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in GD-PI round
Upon clear the GD-PI round, candidates will be offered provisional admission subject to submission of documents

Exam aspirants need to carry their UGAT scorecard with them along with the required documents for the UGAT admission process. Students need to be physically present for the UGAT selection round or else the seats will be allotted to the other candidates.
