UGAT counselling: All India Management Association, New Delhi, does not organise a centralised counselling process for admission through the UGAT exam 2025. The exam conducting body releases the list of participating institutes where candidates can apply for admission. Candidates have the option to choose five colleges at the time of UGAT registration 2025. They will be required to participate in the counselling process of the respective institutions. AIMA releases the UGAT schedule for all the events related to the exam. The UGAT 2025 results were released on June 26, 2025. Read below to know all about UGAT counselling process 2025. 

Q:   What documents are required for UGAT counselling?
A: 

Candidates require the following documents for UGAT Counselling process:
- UGAT rank card
- UGAT admit card
- Aadhaar Card
- Class 10 marksheet
- Class 12 marksheet
- Transfer Certificate (TC)
- Caste Certificate of SC/ST/BC/Minorities (if applicable)
- Two recent passport-size photograph.

Q:   What is the mode of UGAT counselling?
A: 

The UGAT counselling is conducted in online as well as offline mode. Candidates who have qualified for UGAT exam must register themselves online through the official website. However, the Personal Interview WAT/GD and document verification round under the counselling process is held offline at the designated helpline centres. Candidates who meet the UGAT cutoff, need to visit the centre for document verification as per their rank and other selection rounds such as PI and WAT. The seat allotment process is also conducted online based on the merit, category, and choices filled by the candidate during the registration process. Candidates can check their allotment status on the official website. The entire UGAT counselling process except the PI WATand document verification round is conducted in online mode.

Candidates who cleared UGAT, can apply for UGAT Counselling by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of AIMA UGAT
Step 2: Click on 'New Registration'
Step 3: Fill in the required details such as name, UGAT rank, score, etc.
Step 4: Cross check the several details that are filled including personal and academic details in the registration form.
Step 5: Upload photograph and signature in the specified format and size.
Step 6: Pay the counselling fee via the available payment modes. After successful payment, you will receive a payment confirmation message on your registered mobile number and email ID. Candidates then need to appear for the further selection procedure which includes GD, WAT and PI.

Q:   Is it mandatory to attend the document verification round for the UGAT counselling?
A: 

Yes, it is mandatory for all candidates to attend the document verification round. During the document verification process, candidates must present their original documents for verification and provide their personal details such as date of birth, gender, address, etc. The purpose of document verification is to ensure that the candidate is eligible for admission to the selected course and to avoid fraudulent activities.

Candidates who do not attend the document verification round will be considered ineligible. Therefore, it is important for candidates to attend the document verification process physically as per the schedule announced by the authorities.

Selection Procedure Through UGAT 2025

To participate in selection rounds of UGAT colleges, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps.

  • Select five AIMA participating institutes at the time of UGAT registration (up to five)
  • After the declaration of UGAT result, candidates have to apply for their preferred institutes from the respective official websites
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in GD-PI round
  • Upon clear the GD-PI round, candidates will be offered provisional admission subject to submission of documents

Q:   Will I get admission on the basis of UGAT results directly?
A: 

No, after the UGAT exam is cleared, candidates will have to go through for further selection procedure conducted by the participating institutes. The UGAT scores are accepted various colleges and universities. Candidates need to meet the cutoff criteria of the participating institutes to take admissions. The admission process includes Written Ability Test (What), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Other factors such as academic record, work experience, etc. are also considered for admission to various institutes which accept UGAT scores. UGAT score is only the first parameter on which the candidates are shortlisted for admission. The institutes first shortlist the candidates for WAT, GD and PI on the basis of their UGAT scores, marks obtained in Class 12. For the final selection, the institutes take UGAT scores, performance in GD/PI, What, Class 12 marks, work experience, academic diversity and gender diversity are taken into consideration.

Students are required to carry the scorecard along with the required documents for the admission process. They must be physically present at the time of counselling otherwise seats will be allocated to another applicant. Candidates have to bring the following list of documents at the time of counselling for verification.
