Previously, the SET exam had 150 questions. They were reduced to 60 multiple-choice questions in the year 2021, and the duration of the exam was also reduced  proportionally. Candidates who have cleared the SET exam and have met the SET cutoff of their preferred institute will be called for the SET counseling procedure which includes PI and WAT. Candidates have to register on the official website of the SET participating institute and when they clear the PI round they will be called to the campus for document verification. SET cut-offs will be announced after the declaration of the result. The SET scores are accepted by the ten prestigious colleges of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and each individual institute releases their own cutoff after the results are announced. SET results are usually announced in the last week of May, for the both the sessions and other courses. Students can check the same on the official websites of the institutes. The students who match the cutoff criteria will be called for further selection process which includes Group Discussions and Personal Interview . Some institutes also conduct Written Ability Test as a part of the selection process.

SET admit cards are released a week before exam. SET 2026 admit card was released on April 24, and April 30. Students can download the SET admit card using their user ID and password.

SET results are announced within a week of the SET exam. Once the results are announced, students can start preparing for the SET counselling rounds and apply to the college's websites. If the candidate meets the SET cutoff of the participating institute they will be called for the WAT/PI rounds. For the preparation of these rounds, students should focus on improving communication skills, current affairs awareness, general knowledge, etc.

The SET counselling is conducted in online as well as offline mode. Candidates who have qualified the SET exam must register themselves online through the official website for the SET counselling procedure. However, the Personal Interview, Written Ability Test and document verification round under the counselling process is held offline at the designated centres. Candidates who have met the SET cutoff, need to visit the centre for document verification as per their rank and other selection rounds such as PI and WAT. The seat allotment process is also conducted online based on the merit, category, and choices filled by the candidate during the registration process. The entire SET counselling process except the PI, WAT and document verification round is conducted in online mode.

No, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) does not hold a centralized counseling process for BBA Admissions through SET. The role of Symbiosis University is to only conduct the SET exam and prepare the results. The role in BBA process is only sharing the result/scorecard of candidates with the BBA participating institutes that they have selected in the SET application form. The participating institutes prepare their own merit list and select candidates for admission basis the result shared by Symbiosis University. The minimum eligibility criteria for shortlisting is passing marks in SET. However, the selection is based on cut-offs fixed by the institutes. The institutes accepting SET scores inform students about their shortlist status via e-mail when the admission windows open. Candidates who are expecting a call from the institutes they had selected in the SET application form must keep a check on their email (spam section too) for the interview invitation.

Students can prepare for SET exam even if they have not studied mathematics in high school. To prepare for mathematics component of SET exam students can start their SET preparation by learning formulas and theorems. The difficulty level of the QA section is slightly higher than rest sections but with practice, even a non-maths student can score well. 

No, the SET exam will be conducted in a single shift. SET exam is usually conducted in a single shift for one hour, i. e. from 9 AM to 10 AM. The exam was, however, is conducted on two days. 

However, in 2020, the SET exam was conducted in the remote-proctored mode in order to follow the social distancing guidelines for COVID-19, and the students had the option to choose the exam slot according to their preference and convenience. SET exam pattern was also changed after 2020.
