TIET PhD Admission 2021: Highlights
The Deemed-to-be University conducts a Written Ability Test (WAT) for admission to PhD course. Students who are in the final year of their post-graduation can also apply for PhD course. A few important highlights regarding PhD admissions are mentioned below:

TIET PhD Admission 2021
At the doctorate level, the Deemed-to-be University offers a full-time Residential PhD programme under several specialisations. Admission to the programme is based on a valid score in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ NMAT/ XAT/ JRF/ WAT. Also, for PhD (Residential), the selected candidate needs to be present in the campus for a minimum of two years with successful completion of the course. Apart from the general PhD, the Deemed-to-be University offers an Executive PhD programme for working professionals. The final selection of candidates is based on a valid score in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ NMAT/ XAT/ JRF/ WAT. The programme is offered in three specialisations, which are mentioned below:

TIET PhD Application Process 2021
TIET application process is conducted through an online mode. Candidates have to register through the official website of TIET to apply for any of the programmes. Follow the below-mentioned steps for the complete TIET application process:
Step 1: Visit the official website of TIET, www.thapar.edu.
Step 2: Click on “Admission 2021” and register yourself.
Step 3: Fill the application form by entering the required academic and personal details.
Step 4: Upload a scanned photo of the qualifying exam marksheet and a passport-size photograph.
Step 5: Pay the application fee online via debit/ credit card or net banking.
Documents required at the time of admission:
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheet
- UG marksheet (if applicable)
- PG marksheet (if applicable)
- Date of birth certificate
- Passport-size photograph
- Transfer certificate
- Character certificate
TIET PhD Scholarships 2021
Thapar Insitute of Engineering and Technology offers several merit and need-based scholarships under all the programmes. Below mentioned are the details regarding TIET scholarships:
Scholarship for PhD Students:
GATE qualified candidates who are not getting scholarships from AICTE or from any other funding agency are offered a scholarship of Rs 8,000 per month for 10 months in an academic year. It is mandatory for post-graduate students who are availing this scholarship to undertake a teaching load of 8-10 hours per week.
