College with very good faculty, a lot of extracurricular activities, and affordable fees.

Placements: Placements are not available in this course. But after passing this course, we get a lot of opportunities to go forward and pursue. We can do master's and opt for government jobs. Many options are there for us if we complete our graduation in mathematics hons.

Infrastructure: Facilities of this college are very good, so I joined this college. Wi-Fi and separate labs are there. Libraries are available with a huge collection of different subjects which are useful for students. The canteen food is affordable and good to eat.

Faculty: Faculty members in this college for the subject are amazing with great teachers. They have huge knowledge with lovely teaching capacity. Teachers are always there for students who are facing problems. In maths hons, there is no industrial work. A lot of assignments are given. Semester exams are easy to pass if you study well. The pass percentage is about 35% in each topic. It is the best.

Other: I chose this course because I have loved to do maths since childhood. I always wanted to pursue this course for this college only. After completing this course, you will get a huge number of opportunities in front of you in different fields. Every year, APL cricket tournament and ASL football tournament occur. Food donation camps, blood donation camps, freshers parties, farewell parties, and many more are held department-wise every year.

Review of Asutosh College.

Placements: Around 40% student placement, average salary 15k per month, and offered by Byjus company & the role was marketing executive. I know the salary is not too good, but when was in the time of lockdown and now think many good companies are coming for placement.

Infrastructure: In our college, classrooms and libraries are neat and clean, and the Wi-Fi was a little bit slow because of heavy use. Sports and games were too good, and the canteen was also good. If you go there every day, you should get enjoyment, helpful for your studies.

Faculty: Yup, the teachers are well-qualified and helpful to students. If you attend maximum classes, then the semester was easy for you. The semester exam was not too difficult. If you study the last 2 months, you will pass out with a very good CGPA, and the teachers give you extra marks.

Other: First thing, I like Science subjects and think the best college for Math Honours is Asutosh College. Every fest, campus crowd was enjoyable.

Really good infrastructure.

Placements: No campus placements were held in our college as we are students of graduation. That's why no company offered us internship. But their teachings help us pursue IIT and other educational degrees like MCA and M.Sc. Many of us including me are pursuing M.Sc. Department toppers are in different IIT's across the country.

Infrastructure: I think our college is the only college which is as good as any autonomous University. All classroom are well ventilated. Our library has Wi-Fi connection and it has huge collection of books. Library also provides online access of pre booking. The canteen is the longest area of the building but the food is not so good.

Faculty: Maths department’s faculty members are undoubtedly one of the best faculty members of the whole College. They are very helpful and supportive. All classes are useful for examination and a good study material is provided after or during the class. Semester and internal exams are quite tough.

Other: I took mathematics honours because it is very cheap compared to other colleges. Besides, it is well connected by transportation from every location. But I think they need good faculty members for special papers on applied mathematics.

Our college is very good with excellent faculty, good placements and good infrastructure.

Placements: Admission in M.Sc course is very good here, and about 70-80% of the students get placement. Students get admissions in Indian Institute of Technologies, NITs and other renowned universities in India. About 50-60% of the students got an internship in the universities.

Infrastructure: Facilities and the infrastructure available in our department are good. Our college provides clean and huge classrooms with huge green board. Our college also provides a projector facility. The mathematical lab is well-organised with the latest equipment. Our college provides a huge library which consumes almost every book we need. I am not a hostel student, but my friends said that the hostel facility is very good. Quality of the food served is good. There is a huge field near the hostel so that they can play there.

Faculty: Teachers in our department are well-educated. Each teacher has a PhD degree. They are very helpful. In this pandemic, they are teaching us regularly. They are very good at their job. Mathematics has always been a relevant subject. The course curriculum is very helpful in making students future-ready.

Other: I have chosen this course because I am just fond of mathematics. The best thing about this course is, mathematics is the base of science so I can learn many more things apart from maths. But in my opinion, the course should be a little diverse. Our college organises regular events. Our college organises a grand fest once a year. Scholarship facility is also available. Sports, games and extracurricular activities are conducted frequently.

Review of Asutosh College.

Placements: The students in the college get good marks if they work hard. I have completed my graduation from this college. Then, I got a seat in M.Sc, easily under Calcutta University. Many students from the course got placed. All the faculty try their best to place the students.

Infrastructure: All the classroom in Asutosh College are spacious. Wooden benches are available. Some of the classrooms are air-conditioned. The library is very good. Our college provides medical facilities, sports and games etc. Food is always available in the canteen, and the taste of the food is good. But, the problem arises at the time of elections. There is Bhabanipur Police Station nearby the college to solve any cases in the college.

Faculty: All the faculty in our college are good. But, I know only the faculty of math, physics and computer departments. They all are well-behaved and friendly. They gave us the perfect knowledge. During the practicals in my 3rd year, the faculty gave their 100% to teach us. Overall, all the faculty are good.

Other: The events and fests conducted every year are awesome. Everybody loves these events. The campus crowd and the campus surroundings are good. The college provides scholarships to the students.

Candidates who has passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination is eligible to apply provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education /Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. Candidate must have aggregate 50%, Mathematics: 45% and Passed in Chemistry and Physics. However, Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST or OBC Community must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate at the previous qualifying examination.
