B.E. in Medical Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2022
4.2
It has amazing infrastructure, good placements, and great opportunities.
Placements: About 70% of medical electronics engineering students have been placed. The top recruiting companies are Philips, BEL Electronics, Bosch, GE Healthcare, HCL etc. Roles offered are generally graduate engineer trainee, technical associate, embedded software intern and other business management roles too. The highest package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.4 LPA which sums up to an average of at least 5 LPA. About 85% of students got internships in their preferred subject lines.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is undoubtedly perfect for students with AC, clean washrooms on every floor, drinking water facilities etc. Besides, the library has all academic books, newspapers, magazines, and novels. Labs are available for various subjects with all the required types of equipment. The medical electronics department has 3 labs which are well maintained, and the classrooms are exceptionally great and provide an excellent atmosphere to study. The main canteen of our college has all the different foods available for breakfast and lunch. There are 4 cafes that provide hot drinks, cold drinks, Maggi, Toku chat (very famous on the campus), and other chats. Significantly, all of these places maintain hygiene and serve good food.
Faculty: The amount of exposure a student finds in the department is astonishing. Even with the average teaching quality, the faculty are supportive of every student and tend to guide, talk, and are friendly with students. Every student can work towards their exciting subject, and the respective faculty provides all the materials and support in case of any difficulty. Medical electronics is a highly flourishing course and has impacted the working of healthcare industries in a significant way. Currently, with the pandemic, to maintain sustainability in the environment, this course is extremely required in the industries. In fact, medical electronics engineers are the bridge between health care sectors and the upcoming technologies of the world like industry 4.0. The semester exams are not very difficult but cannot be cracked without studying hard. We have a very good option of raking 3 internals, and the best 2 will be considered, which helps us to only improve our scores, and the syllabus is better than the VTU syllabus. The pass percentage is 80%.
Other: I am very keen on understanding medical instruments, and I wanted to study a subject that is a blend of both biology and electronics. Hence, medical electronics engineering is a perfect choice. The subject gives complete insights into electronics and additionally provides the application of electronics in health care industries which is incredible. The course can be improvised by the addition of some current technologies and showing more practical visuals of healthcare. The college provides a wide range of extracurricular activities, and there are more than 10 clubs comprising the interests of every individual. The campus has a huge ground and sports complex where students can play. Every year, we have 2 fests, a cultural fest (Utsav) in the even semester and a technical fest (Phase Shift) during the odd semester. The students can also take part in fests outside the college through the clubs. The start-up cell of BMSCE IIC provides funds for any student who wants to start a start-up. The campus is a very good platform for the students to find the best in themselves and grow in their dreams.

Great crowd, good campus, in the centre of Bangalore with great facilities.
Placements: There are great offers and students are most likely to get placed at the end of the course in reputed companies. The average salary would be around 3 lakhs per annum. Companies come for various job roles but mostly prefer students from computer science and engineering, information science and electronics and communication departments.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was really good but it is under construction now as they are planning to expand and modify the campus. Hostels are good and spacious and they keep the entire campus spic and span with a good maintenance. There is a lack of open space currently as they are building over the ground.
Faculty: The course curriculum is well-designed to match the programme outcomes and course outcomes. It has been accredited internationally the faculty team is mostly experienced in their fields. They maintain a good student-teacher relationship creating a good environment.

Why choose BMSCE - Read below.
Placements: I am 2024 passed out. I am glad that I took medical electronics as my branch in engineering which helped me not only get into a good company but also a lot of exposure to various industries like IT, medical, or core electronics companies. It's just not bio but a lot of engineering concepts that help one gain immense knowledge. It has helped around 70% of students get placed in top companies with packages around 4 LPA - 12 LPA. Companies like Philips, Siemens, Accenture, and TCS visit here to hire us. 90% of students even got internships, to be a great biomedical engineer.
Infrastructure: Hostel is great. You get to make a lot of friends from different cities and states. It's very clean and hostile. Food is also decent which will be served outside the hostel in a mess. There will be a lot of celebrations and fests conducted for the hostelite.
Faculty: Teachers are always very kind and helpful. If you attend all the classes without bunking, I am sure everyone will get a decent score. Papers are a bit difficult to test how much you have learned from the past 3-6 months. You need to get 40/100 to pass. This course will definitely make you industry-ready.

It is one of the best and oldest colleges in Karnataka, with a small campus.
Placements: About 80% of medical electronics engineering students are placed. Some of the top companies are TCS, Philips, GE Healthcare, Bosch, HCL, etc. The roles that are commonly offered are engineering trainee, clinical engineer, patent analyst, and business manager. The average salary package is 6 LPA, and the highest is 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are open labs that are always available to students. They provide Wi-Fi. There is a ground for sports, a library, a self-study center, and many canteens. There is a lot of greenery on the campus and an outdoor area for students to relax. There is an indoor sports ground with a gym.
Faculty: The quality of teaching is excellent. Most of them have finished their PhDs in their respective fields. They provide a lot of exposure, so students gain a lot of practical knowledge. Academically, it is very good. The internals and semester exams are both of average difficulty as long as students study regularly.
Other: I chose medical electronics as it is a mixture of electronics and biology. I found the combination very interesting. More staff in our branch would improve it. Phase Shift is one of the biggest tech festivals. Utsav is one of the biggest festivals conducted across the state. It is very fun, and many people from other colleges also come.

One of the best top colleges in Bangalore, and the faculty for medical electronics are average.
Placements: BMSCE is one of the top and oldest colleges in Bangalore. Around 80% of our batch was placed during placements. Companies that came for recruitment are GE Medicals, TCS, Infosys, Accenture and Cognizant. The top recruiter was TCS. The average package offered is 3.5 LPA, the highest package is 4.5 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure. It has separate hostels for boys and girls. Good food is provided in the hostel and canteen. Medical electronics is only taught in 5 colleges in Karnataka, and BMS is the top college teaching the course. In this course, you will learn what electronics people learn for the first two years, but you'll apply what you learned on medical technologies from 3rd year onwards, like digital signal processing on ECG and EEG.
Faculty: Lecturers are average and give directions in the right way. One should not be dependent on them to gain complete knowledge. Self-study is preferable. Semesters 1 and 2 will be common for all the branches of engineering, where you'll learn basics of all like engineering drawing, C programming, chemical engineering, mathematics, thermodynamics etc. Semesters 2 and 3 will be the same for electronics people, where you learn digital communication, digital signal processing, logic design, networking, advanced mathematics, power electronics etc. In semesters 5 and 6, you'll be applying electronics to medical signals like ECG, EEG etc. You will learn the basics of neural networks and other subjects based on electives. There will be a mini project in the 6th semester. 7th and 8th semesters are similar, but you'll have placements and projects going on.
Other: Medical electronics is a hybrid course where you'll learn electronics and apply it to medical technologies. It doesn't teach complete biology but bits of it and application-perspective. The course doesn't limit you to get placements in medical companies, if you do additional courses, you'll get placements in IT companies easily.
