Excellent college with placements and skill development but has some infrastructure constraints.
Placements: In EEE last year, almost 80% of students were placed in different companies. Overall placements for CS are very much higher than for other branches. Reputed companies like Visa, Redbus, etc., are regular recruiters from our college. In my course, top recruiters are Kalkitech, Hitachi, Synopsys, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not that big compared to other colleges but now new buildings are being built. College provides a hostel inside the college campus and ladies' hostel near college. Canteen facility is good. Sports and games are also great. Usually college annual sports meet Chakravyuh, and arts fest Layatharang happens in the even semester.
Faculty: Faculty members are really helpful. They are highly qualified. Most of the senior faculty members are Ph.D. holders. College is affiliated with KTU. Its curriculum is under KTU. Usually, the semester exams are medium to difficult range. But if you study atleast the PYQ thoroughly you can get through the exams. Our college has a pass percentage of almost 80%.

Is mec worth the hype or not?
Placements: MEC has great placement statistics. MEC had the largest placement of 52 LPA as compared to other colleges in Kerala. The placements usually range from 52 LPA to 5-6 LPA, with an average package of 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Bosch, redBus, EY, TCS, Google, Myntra, Amazon, Zoho, etc. Almost 70-75% of students got placed in MEC, and the top roles offered are developing and management. .
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are well-equipped with good seating and projectors. MEC also has well-equipped labs. Hostels in MEC are usually not so good, with low food and living quality. MEC offers a great range of sports facilities for students interested in sports, and it also has 50-plus clubs comprising all domains like arts, sports, tech, management, etc.
Faculty: Faculty-to-student ratio is quite good, and faculty members are helpful and provide mentorship assistance. The curriculum is set by KTU, and it comprises 8 semesters, involving both academic and industry-focused topics. I think it's a great curriculum for industry-oriented topics, and exams range from moderate to hard on the level of difficulty. MEC also has a pass percentage of 78%, which is top 3 in Kerala.
Other: The reason I chose MEC is because of its placement statistics and good student community. The thing I wish for improvement is the infrastructure of the campus. The tech fest Excel is one of the major attractions of MEC, and it has a wide range of activities, both technical and non-technical. The arts and sports fest of MEC is one for the books.

Good Placements, Plethora of Clubs, and Good Hostel Facilities.
Placements: MEC is run by a very active Placement Cell that coordinates placement activities and drives in the college. Companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo, Nvidia, Cypress Semiconductor, Open-Silicon, GE Healthcare, etc. form the top recruiters with the average salary package coming to 8.1 LPA and the highest being 52 LPA. Some students have done internships in companies such as Keltron, Oracle, Ansys, and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average. However, it has been improving recently. All departments have separate labs with necessary equipment. The college provides Wi-Fi facility throughout the campus. The college library is equipped with textbooks, magazines and journals, previous year question papers, project reports, and novels (English and Malayalam). There are hangout spots like Elga, Casa, Figa as well as a volleyball court, basketball court, and open ground within college premises. Hostel mess and facilities are good.
Faculty: All teachers in the department are well-qualified and equipped with expertise in the field. The teaching quality is good, and the syllabus is relevant to the electrical and electronics industry. However, the duration of a semester is very short according to the KTU calendar which has made it hectic for both students and teachers. Often portions are not covered completely before the semester exams. The latest pass percentage recorded from MEC is 64.19%.
Other: There are many clubs in the college that host a plethora of events all through the year (Technical and Non-Technical). Technical clubs include IEEE MEC SB, TLE MEC, FOSS MEC, TinkerHub MEC, while Non-Technical clubs include Bharatham (Music Club), Thudi (Cultural Club), The Book Thieves (Literary Club), and NSS MEC. There are other special events conducted such as Arts and Sports Days, Excel Tech Fest, Ethnic Day, College Day, Onam and Christmas Celebrations, etc.

Excellent placement opportunities, but the college life is poor.
Placements: Ranks up to 10,000 in KEAM are accepted for EEE. The highest salary package offered in CSE is 52 LPA. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA. Around 80% of students are placed every year in good companies. Top companies continue to reach out, and recruitment is still going good.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available, but it's not reliable and doesn't cover the entire campus. There are plenty of labs and opportunities for us to work on projects. Many students have participated in different tech competitions, achieving good results that help in their placements. Libraries are not brand new, but most of the necessary engineering books are available.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive, and portions are covered before the examinations. No topics are skipped for exams. College is affiliated with KTU (Abdul Kamal Technical University). Exams are conducted as per their schedule. Both series exams and internals are conducted regularly each month.

Pros and cons of MEC and why you should choose it.
Placements: Our college has the second-highest placement rate in Kerala. Our average package is 100,000. Many companies like Google, Twitter, Tata, Meta, etc. came to our college to find employees. Almost 95% of the students are placed in the placement drives. And all of them are offered highly stiffened internships and scholarships if they have a great GATE score.
Infrastructure: The faculty members and facilities in our college are great but our college is an old building and they should immediately paint or improve the infrastructure of our college. Labs and classrooms are okay and we have free Wi-Fi connections throughout our college.
Faculty: Our teachers are great, first of all. It's our curriculum and syllabus that's the problem. It's not a curriculum that considers the teachers and students needs and wishes and values our opinions. Our course curriculum is not skill-oriented and not very applicable in the real world. Exams are very rushed and portions are also rushed for the exams.
Other: Our tech fest Excel is the second-largest techfest in South India, and it's great.

Best college for placements
Placements: Electrical and electronics engineering branch in college is really good. 80 percent of students got placed in the last year in top companies.synopsis kalkitech etc are the core companies. 90 percent of students got internships from college. The average package is 600000.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure offered by the college is absolutely fine. Labs, classroom, auditorium, etc., are highly comfortable. Canteen and library facilities are also fine . There are both men’s and ladies’ hostels. The ladies’ hostel and the men’s hostel is 5000 . The ladies’ hostel is a little bit more comfortable.
Faculty: Faculties are highly educated and helpful; teachers are approachable. The syllabus is comparatively easy compared to other universities. It comes under KTU University. There are 8 semesters. The first 4 semesters are easy. Then it becomes difficult because of its core subjects.
Other: Campus crowd is comparatively less. Chill-out spots are less.

Great college for computer science students, and jobs are guaranteed for them
Placements: Placements are average for electrical students. Most companies that come for campus recruitment are IT companies. Core companies are less in number and mostly recruit those with a CGPA of 8 and above. CGPA from the first four semesters is important as companies only check the first four semesters.
Infrastructure: Faculties and infrastructure are below average, especially labs. As it is a government college, faculties do their job and leave and aren’t very much concerned about students' issues. One has to go for tuitions or learn on their own to get a good grade in subjects.
Faculty: Teaching quality is poor considering the number of students. Teachers are unable to manage and control 70 students in the class. So it can get very loud in the class and can make the teachers lose interest in taking the class. The course curriculum is very old and irrelevant compared to industry demands and is useless for off-campus placements.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because of the opportunities in the government as well as the private sector. I wish that the curriculum was more relevant to meet industry demands and had less lab work such as writing records, which is not even seen in schools these days. Events, fests, campus crowd, and extracurricular activities are excellent, and one should not make the mistake of shying away from college clubs. Especially in the first year, join as many clubs as you can!

Good placements with good facilities.
Placements: Annually, 80% of the students are getting placed in different companies. Top recruiters in the EEE core are Kalkitech, Larsen and Toubro, Air India, Sobha Construction and so on. The highest package offered was 52 lakhs CTC and an average of 5-8 LPA jobs are offered to the students in EEE and in other courses. Apart from placements, 40% of the students are offered internships in companies like Oracle, Visa, Nvidia and so on. Students of EEE brach are involved in heavy electrical machines as well as different components in the electronics, such as microchips and controllers.
Infrastructure: Model consists of approximately 14 acres with Wi-Fi, allotted labs, classes and a good library. The hostel really sets itself apart from the hostels of other colleges with decent food and a good sports and arts complex. All the classrooms are well equipped and can hold about 80 students.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified and are really focused on the education of the students by giving practical as well as industrial knowledge, making the students industry-ready. Semester exams are tough and Model is ranked 3rd in overall pass percentage.
Other: By selecting EEE, we are able to understand the concepts behind electricity. Innovation in the labs would be a great improvement. Activities like Excel, sports and the arts involve the students in extracurricular activities.
