B.Sc. in Life Science - Batch of 2027
3.8
It has good placements, faculty, and infrastructure.
Placements: I am currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Life Science (2024-2027). In our course, around 15-20% of students got placements, and the majority of students go for research, etc. The highest package offered ranges from 3-6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite small and cozy looking There is a lawn, a canteen, a Nescafe area, water coolers, labs, sports complex. However, compared to other colleges, it is quite small but cute and cozy. Labs are air-conditioned and have all types of equipment and instruments needed to perform in practicals. Overall, it has a nice and comfortable infrastructure to work with.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach nicely and provide all the study materials. They are helpful in every manner. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students ready to crack the ahead examinations. Semester examinations are of moderate level, not more difficult and neither more easy. The pass percentage in DRC is 50-63% in their first semester, and the rest is 50%. The course offers a solid foundation in subjects like genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology, along with practical lab experience.
Other: This course is versatile and has many scopes, so I chose it. I wanted to add pharmacy as a subject too to my course. There are events, fests, connectivity, scholarships, extracurricular activities, and societies.

It is absolutely satisfying because of the faculty and good placements.
Placements: The college is very nice and many companies come here to hire students. 80% of students get internships and sometimes, 30% of insurance is given in the last year. Many students get internships and placements in the third year, and first-year students can also apply for them.
Infrastructure: A new building is under construction. The old buildings are very nice. Some classrooms are AC and classes don't have AC. In some classes, it is very hard to be there, but that's fine because the environment of the college is very nice all the way. There is a greenery which makes a little hold.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified from foreign countries. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are a bit high because there are no mid-semester exams, so it is hard for us to study all that in one night.
Other: I chose it because it provides a variety of courses in the future. Things that should be improved about my course are internals and the marking scheme. Events organised are very nice here.

The botany department is bad.
Placements: Placement is decent at this college. Under my course, it is rare to find placements, but overall it's a good program and college. There are few companies for this course; as I mentioned, this is a hands-on course, and people take exams after completion.
Infrastructure: I feel that my course is very versatile; after this course, you can opt for any field you want. It’s a good choice for people who haven't yet decided on their career path. The classes are good. However, the Botany department is the worst; most teachers are rude and do not understand students' situations. The labs are good, but the mess is bad. I do not live in the hostel, so I can’t comment on that.
Faculty: Botany department teachers are bad, but others are good. The course is well-designed and nice. The exams are easy, but there is a vast syllabus, so it might be hard to learn everything. The semester exams are like fine, you can study for 2 days and u can still pass. I don't know about the pass percentage because I'm always passed.
Other: I chose this course because I was not sure about what to do. This course allows you to learn about everything in Biology and Chemistry. Things that can be improved are that there should not be writing work in practice. Fests are good.

It's a really nice college.
Placements: 55% of students get placed in my course. The highest package is 32 LPA, the lowest package is 5 LPA, and the average package is 16 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Reliance Life Sciences and Serum Institute of India. About 75% of students get internships in my course.
Infrastructure: AC is provided, and the infrastructure of classrooms is moderate. Labs are available. All students have free access to the library, and we can borrow books from the library. The hostel food is quite good and hygienic. The canteen is quite big and ventilated. Games and sports are played.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. Teachers are very helpful and kind, and they pay attention to each and every student. This course is very curriculum-relevant and makes students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course as it gives me various options, and I want to explore more about science. They should give less assignments to students, as the file work is quite hectic. Events and fests are very joyful and enjoyable.

It has a strong academic program and lots of opportunities for career development.
Placements: Researcher scientist, laboratory technician, and biotechnologist are some top roles offered in my course. 40-90% of students get internships in this course. Organizations like Deloitte and KPMG give internships. The highest package is 19-32 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.5-3.2 LPA. 30-70% of students are placed in B.Sc. Life Sciences course.
Infrastructure: The quality of the food is really amazing and very hygienic. All facilities are provided for students, like Wi-Fi, labs, and a library. Classrooms have AC in each practical class and sometimes have network issues. Light is provided the whole time, and the non-teaching staff is also amazing. The infrastructure is also quite good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and qualified. If any student has any problem, they can directly talk to teachers without any hesitation. This course is quite curriculum-relevant. Semester exams are of moderate level.
Other: I chose this course as I want to explore more, and what's better than a B.Sc. Life Sciences, as it has Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany in this course. Events are really fun at Daulat Ram College, and I really enjoy each and every fest. The crowd is good here.

A review of Daulat Ram College.
Placements: The placement rate of the college is really good, with companies like Urban Company and Accenture visiting the campus every year and recruiting several students either as interns or as full-time employees of the company. Recently 8 students have been placed in Urban Company.
Infrastructure: The hostel of the college is outstanding; it is fully air-conditioned and provides the best quality food a hostel can provide in any college. The course is also very good as it encompasses various fields, making it very diverse in itself and opening up more opportunities.
Faculty: The faculty members are excellent with good expertise over their subjects, thus helping the students in every step and guiding the students academically. They are very friendly, approachable, and cooperative, making a healthy student-teacher relationship.

All You Need To Know About DRC!
Placements: For a life sciences student, it is necessary to complete your studies, at least up to the master's. This not only fosters your educational background but also facilitates placement following post-graduation. The student can apply for a post as a teacher in schools after qualifying exams for the same. Many companies expand their internships to many colleges at DU, and if the student stays active and keeps a regular check of all messages posted on different WhatsApp groups, he/she can easily become an intern. Sometimes, the student will have to settle for an unpaid internship to receive a LOR (letter of recommendation). This letter facilitates your preference for future internships. Paying fees for internships is better if you aim to gain more experience in less time and include your skills and experience in your CV.
Infrastructure: The labs are well-structured, clean, and tidy. Being fully furnished with AC in each room, projectors, and all types of equipment, studying is interesting. The Zoology and Botany Labs have ample reserved species that make each lecture interesting. Looking at creatures you're taught about makes studying and researching about the organisms much better, and luckily, these facilities are kept in mind at Daulat Ram College. I didn't opt for living a hostel life because I reside in Delhi itself. But as per my discussion with my classmates, the hostels have decent infrastructure and good Wi-Fi facilities. Also, the meals and snacks served are top-notch. The canteen is average. The Amul and Nestle outlets are comparatively better. One can find the prices at the cafeteria pretty affordable. The drawback comes from the absence of specific courts for some sports. There's no basketball or volleyball court. Plus, the gym does not have well-working equipment. The area allotted for the sports ground is good.
Faculty: The teachers of the Life Sciences Department at Daulat Ram College are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Only a few teachers are helpful and cooperative. The students must be highly cooperative with each other. I'd suggest the students create an inter-college group comprising life sciences students from as many colleges at DU as possible. This significantly helped me through my second semester, as the teachers didn't share all my notes with the class. To excel in your semester exams, the student must have a thorough knowledge of their syllabus. A very useful tip is to go through the previous year's papers, as many questions are repeated every year. The paper level is average in DU. If the students keep the above point in mind and follow the same religiously, He/she can score well easily. The worst thing about exams is the time when they are conducted. The odd-semester exams are conducted in December and January, when the winter is at its peak, and even-semester during May and June, again peak summer. In addition to this, conducting exams in Sadbhavana Bhawan in the auditorium, where there are no fans and the student has to complete the paper while sitting far away from a pedestal fan, becomes very suffocating. Complete all of your assignments, reports, files, and projects and give all your tests on time. Perform well and score decent marks. This will help you attain a good CGPA. I have no information about the pass percentage, but scoring below 5 CGPA is not good.
Other: Though this course makes my schedule cumbersome, it has its benefits too. With Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry as its major domains, the course provides a plethora of choices to pursue a master's from. Every year, annual fests take place in all colleges at DU, and it is an enjoyable moment for all students.

Review of Life Science at Daulat Ram College.
Placements: The placement cell at the college provides great opportunities for jobs and internships. The Life Science course doesn't offer such placement. Its main purpose is graduation and providing you with knowledge regarding the 3 subjects of chemistry, botany and zoology.
Infrastructure: Daulat Ram College is a part of DU, so the infrastructure is quite good, with fully ventilated classrooms, a huge library and labs with trained staff. The canteen is spacious and clean, with food available at low prices. We have outlets of Amul and Nescafe present inside the campus.
Faculty: Faculty are knowledgeable with years of experience. Semester exams are at a moderate level and the pass percentage is 98%. Teachers share PPT notes and assignments regularly, which helps you gather more information regarding this course. Hence, faculty members are quite good here.
Other: This course provides you with knowledge of 3 subjects so for me, it's above the Hons course.
