Q:   What are the essential qualifications for admission to BSc course at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?
A:

The following may be required to be eligible for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College's BSc programs:

1. Academic Requirements: Candidates must have earned a minimum aggregate score as set by the University of Delhi in the 10+2 exam from an accredited board.

2. Subject Requirements: Depending on the BSc programme for which they are applying, candidates may need to have studied particular subjects in their 10+2 test. For instance, applicants may need to have taken Mathematics as one of their primary courses for their qualifying test in order to be eligible for the BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.

3. Extra Requirements: Certain Bachelor of Science programs could have extra requirements for admission, such as subject-specific cutoffs, entrance tests like the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET), or extracurricular activity, sports, or reserved category requirements.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BSc at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Deendayal Upadhyay college under Delhi University is quite well known for its academics. It has ranking of 24 which is considered quite good. Due to this, cut offs at this Institute are quite high for all the undergraduate courses that it offers. From different sources that I could go through, the cutoffs in the year 2022 were set between 94 to 96 for different BSc courses which are offered by this college. Cutoffs very every year and it depends on the number of seats available for admission and also the results of the CUET examination. In the year 2023 either the paper was little soft  or the students were now aware of what type of questions are asked and as a result more than 20000 students have scored 100 percentile. Not only this the students who have scored percentile above 95 are more than two and half lakh. Of course this is all India figure and this test is applicable for all the Central University across India and therefore it can be safely assumed that not all the students will come up to colleges under Delhi University.  Be that as it may, this is bound to increase the competition and as a result it is expected that the cutoffs for the year 2023 for BSc courses may increase by one or two percentiles.
Best wishes to you.

Q:   How are BSc placements at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, placements for undergraduate courses like BA, BCom or BSc are definitely not like placements after graduation in engineering. This is so because it is considered that after engineering majority of the students will look for a job while for other streams of graduations, majority of students may look for doing post graduation in some specialised area. As a result of this it is nightmare to come to conclusion based on this statistics. In the case of DDU under Delhi University the data is not available for different streams of under graduation but this club under single heading called under graduate students. Total number of students place or short of hundred out of about 800 students who pass out. But interesting aspect is that more than two and half times the number of students placed or not even looking for response but see admission for higher studies. Whenever a student who is intending to do BSc most look at this aspect and not get swayed by figures of placements.
To help you understand I am attaching link that will give you an overall picture of placements in this college.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College in Dwarka Sector 3 is good.
Placements: Around 30% of students got placed. The highest salary offered is Rs. 20,000-Rs. 25000 per month. It is a very less number of students that got placed. In our college, no companies visit to recruit students. We have to do it on our own. Students have to secure internships on their own.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is good. Classrooms are air-conditioned. Labs are good for students than other off-campus college of DU. Food is not that much good in canteen. College has a small playground for sports. It has a few sports like cricket. Library is good.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful. They teach good. Semester exams are moderate to difficult level. Overall, college do not have good crowd. Course curriculum is relevant. However, they do not give student choice to choose DSE on its own while other colleges of DU provide it.
Other: I chose this course as it contains all three subjects physics, maths, and computer science. We can pursue a masters in any one of these. College conducts annual fest Kalra.

I suggest you to reconsider before joining our college.
Placements: I enrolled in a CS degree course, and I can vouch for our whole batch that even the toppers weren't offered an opportunity to appear for any job placements whatsoever. The placement cell is just defunct and useless. While they do offer placements for a few select courses, the overall state is abysmal.
Infrastructure: We have a newly-built campus that has decent amenities and infrastructure on par with the best colleges in DU. Despite some tile work and false-ceiling issues being of substandard quality, the rest is well in place. Labs, libraries, classrooms, etc. are alright. The canteen is spacious and good, but the food is just okayish.
Faculty: Barring a few exceptions in the CS department, the faculty is lazy. The curriculum for PS-CS is terrible and doesn't give you any job prospects, and there aren't any hands-on skills that you learn during the course, rendering the degree useful only as much as a B.A. programme course. The faculty for physics is even lazier.
Other: There are no good things about B.Sc. If you are considering it, I would suggest you think it through carefully, and maybe go for something else. Events are alright. Societies are good compared to DU standards. I was a part of two of them, so I can speak to the societies' being decent. The fests in our college are a letdown. We have no proper funding. There are allegations of corruption. I didn't see any star performances for 4 years. There are no political parties or elections—essentially none to question the authority. The connectivity in our college is decent, but there aren't many good PGs/rooms/flats since Dwarka Mod is kind of like a village.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi is a good college.
Placements: I have heard the information about placement rate rarely as most of the students from our course, i.e.,B.Sc. . physical science (computer science), will opt for higher studies after pre-graduation. Moreover, due to the Covid-19 situation, I have less interaction with college management. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA. The placement cell provides many internship programs to students. Some of our seniors got placements in very well companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are world-class. The building is excellent with 7 floors, 10 elevators and a proper facility which makes no problem for anyone to reach any floor at any time. Our college has a library of 3 floors, i.e., on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor which is interconnected. There are around 50,000 books in our library, and the sitting arrangement is also world-class. Our college has air-conditioners in the library, classrooms, halls, auditorium, and library. Washrooms are well-maintained.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Even in the pandemic, teachers are doing a great job. They are working hard which I like most about the college. Regular class tests and doubt classes are held in a phased manner. Faculty members are the best in our department. All faculty members are well-qualified and best in their respective fields, and they also do their best and teach in the best way.

I am satisfied with this college, because of good study.
Placements: I have never seen or heard getting placement from our college to any company. Even there is no initiative done by the college to provide students internships.
Infrastructure: Every facility is available for students. There is proper equipment in laboratories. There is separate Wi-Fi for students and teachers. The food served in the canteen is of good quality. The ground is good for students to play many games at one time. There is even a small gym for students.
Faculty: Teachers try their best to reach students. They even take a proper record of student's individuals. Teachers are well qualified. This course to be more skillful than others as students study multiple subjects. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate.
Other: In the previous year, there was no election held in our college, and our college fest was also declined. Many students were unhappy about this.

Good College.
Placements: The official report says our college has 3 tier type companies that comes. 1st tier companies (KPMG etc.). Gives package of 6-8 LPA. 2nd tier companies gives package of 4-5. 3rd tier ~1-3 I think. It's just report but don't know the filtered report for only science students. But internship opportunities (Tech + Non-Tech) frequently comes every month which is good for further placement.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. Full AC classrooms, Wi-Fi, 2 floors Libraries + E-Library. Wi-Fi sometimes can be unavailable (mostly on Saturdays)
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. At least their assignments. But sometimes lack of teachers results in not proper CBCS based education. If you want to take subject X and there is no teacher for subject X, you can't get that subject (even can't get exam registration on the subject because practical exam would miss atleast). Hence take separate information for course subject provided in particular college rather than just hope on DU official syllabus.
Other: I chose B.Sc physical science with computer science because my English marks were not enough to take admission in B.Sc (hons). Otherwise I would take B.Sc CS hons because it will benefit in merit based admission for M.Sc CS in Delhi University with 50% seats. The one thing I like in my course is consistency of one language for maximum years. We were taught Python for almost most of the times even in CSA (Computer System Architecture) Practical. Python is not only taught for our course but all B.Sc hons (even Physics student do Python coding practicals). Unfortunately I was student in this college in the time period of COVID pandemic. Hence didn't see any extracurricular activities.
