B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Lateral Entry) 

at Future Institute of Engineering and Management, Sonarpur

BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is an AICTE-approved programme at FIEM. Candidates, who have passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% with a valid score in JEE Mains or WBJEE are eligible to pursue the programme. Candidates have to pay an approximately fees of INR 4.06 Lacs for the programme.

FIEM accepts various entrance exam scores for various courses, the entrance exam accepted for B.Tech are:

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination)

JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main)

JELET (Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry). 

The candidate must also have completed 10+2 education from a recognised board with minimum 50% aggregate for securing a seat in B.Tech.

The admission into FIEM for B.Tech course is done through WBJEE conducted by the state , the candidate would have to send application to the same, and also appear for the same and clear it and he must also take part in the councelling of the WBJEE exam. The college also accepted other national level entrance exam like JEE Mains scores for admission. The requirement for admission are the candidate must pass class 12 from a recognised board in the related subjects.

Yes, candidates can take admission in the FIEM BTech course without JEE Mains scores, because the college also accepts valid scores of WBJEE for admission to BTech courses. Therefore, applicants with valid scores in any of the following entrance exams can get admission to BTech courses. Thus, candidates can get admission with JEE Mains; however, it is not compulsory.

The college also reserves seats for candidates having scores in different entrance exams. 80% of seats are filled by qualified WBJEE candidates,  10% of seats are filled by qualified JEE (Main) candidates, and 10% of seats are allocated under a Management Quota for candidates with valid WBJEE or JEE (Main) rank cards. 

Yes, FIEM does offer a BTech course for the duration of four years, divided into eight semesters. Moreover, the college also offers lateral entries to the BTech course. To get admission into the BTech course, applicants must complete their Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 45%. Additionally, for the selection process, the college accepts valid scores of WBJEE/JEE Mains. 

Yes, government job opportunities do exist after completing BTech course from FIEM. Graduates can opt for numerous jobs in public sector undertakings (PSUs), government ministries, defense services, and other government organisations. Some of the government job prospects for BTech graduates are listed below:

PSUs: Organisations such as BHEL, ONGC, NTPC, and GAIL hire BTech graduates based on competitive examinations such as GATE.

Indian Engineering Services (IES): After BTech, candidates can attempt the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) of the UPSC, which gives them reputable positions in government offices.

Defense Services: Students who have graduated with a BTech degree can get appointed in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force by writing examinations such as the Combined Defense Services (CDS) or Technical Entry Schemes (TES). 

Railway Jobs: Engineers are recruited in Indian Railways by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for technical vacancies.
