For Sponsored Candidates: 1. A candidate working in an academic institution/PSU/Govt. R&D organizations/Govt. recognized private R&D organizations /industry is considered as a sponsored candidate. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least 2 years at the time of admission. 2. For sponsored candidates having a Bachelors's degree from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) having a CGPA of 8.0 or above, the requirement of GATE/NET is waived off. A candidate is required to submit a medical certificate signed by the chief medical officer (CMO) or the equivalent of a government hospital.

Counselling
Admission is through online counselling based on the rank/ score obtained in GATE/Entrance Exam conducted by institute. Candidate who have completed B.E/B.Tech (Hons) from IIT with CGPA of 8 will be admitted based on the marks obtained in entrance exam only if seats are vacant.
