Useless course in big brand.

Placements: No placements at all. Don't even think of it. Few companies like Infosys visited the campus. Some engineering colleges also visit the campus for the position of professors. If you are looking for placement in core companies then this is not the place for you.

Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi, spacious classrooms, excellent medical facilities and good campus for sports and games. Two big grounds for sports i.e. upper ground and lower ground. Hostel rooms are very tiny. Two people living in single accommodation room. No air conditioning facility.

Faculty: Some professors were knowledgeable and some were extremely waste of time. One particular community people dominate the total workforce of the university. No particular industry exposure. The only place where the students go for summer training is BCCL (CIL).

An overview of IIT ISM, Dhanbad.

Placements: Placements in college are up to 70% for our department, and placements are mostly provided for teaching roles. Some companies like SKF, L&T and other bearing companies visit the campus. Some of the South colleges also come to hire students. Also, we are allowed to sit with the B.Tech students for placements. Many companies like Siemens, TCS, etc., visit to hire students for internships.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is up to the mark. It is not as in other IITs but far better than private colleges. All the facilities like gym, OAT, Asia's biggest technical library, lecture halls, football and cricket grounds, basketball and volleyball courts, a huge student activity centre, swimming pool, etc., are available on the campus. Also, a minibus service is available for transportation on campus within predefined schedule. The hostel is amazing, especially Jasper as compared to others. Jasper has 1,200 rooms, where 2 people are given one room. The mess food is also up to the mark.

Faculty: All the faculty members are PhD holders and are experienced. Most of them have parental nature, but some of them don't. This course is comparatively enjoyable than other courses. There is no hectic schedule. The syllabus is designed for maintenance of equipment and machines, and it is mostly related to lubrication.

Other: A cultural fest, alumni fest, technical fest and many other events are organised.

For Sponsored Candidates: 1. A candidate working in an academic institution/PSU/Govt. R&D organizations/Govt. recognized private R&D organizations /industry is considered as a sponsored candidate. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least 2 years at the time of admission. 2. For sponsored candidates having a Bachelors's degree from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) having a CGPA of 8.0 or above, the requirement of GATE/NET is waived off. A candidate is required to submit a medical certificate signed by the chief medical officer (CMO) or the equivalent of a government hospital.
