IIT Jammu MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025

IIT Jammu MTech course is offered across different specialisations. Some of the offered course specialisations are Data Science, VLSI Design, etc. Admission to this course is based on a GATE score followed by COAP counselling. Eligible students seeking admission must qualify for the entrance exam for admission to IIT Jammu. Candidates who wish to apply to MTech at IIT Jammu must have a valid GATE score. The candidates are screened based on their CGPI in BE/BTech and GATE scores.

The shortlisted ones are further called for a written test and interview.

IIT Jammu fee is cumulative of various components like tuition fees, security deposit, hostel fees, mess fees, and more. The tuition fee, hostel fee and other such components payment is accepted annually or semester-wise. The admission fee amount has to be paid to secure a seat in the desired IIT Jammu course. Candidates willing to apply to IIT Jammu for MTech are required to register at the Common Offer Acceptance Portaland a COAP registration number is mandatory for filling out the application form on the IIT Jammu application portal. Admission offers are made via the COAP portal.

Getting an IIT itself is a big thing.

Placements: Almost all students get placed in our course. The average package is 14 LPA and the highest is 50 LPA. Top roles are in Data Science, ML, and software development. Top recruiting companies like Qualcomm, Intel, Nvidia, Amazon, and Silicon Labs. Almost the batch gets internships. There is nothing hard to get.

Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, it is one of the best due to the new emerging IIT. Hostels are the best I have ever seen in my life with so many facilities, night canteens, and a good mess. Medical facilities are also good. A proper gaming area building is there, along with a huge ground for football.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are well-qualified and have a lot of experience. What they teach is not able to get on YouTube and sometimes not even in books. They make us industry-ready. Exams are quite intuitive. It's not like you study everything and go for the exam. It's still possible that you won't be able to solve it.

IIT Jammu has released the placement report for M.Tech in Tunnel Engineering for the year 2023. As per the placement statistics 2023, the highest package offered was INR 5 LPA. As of now, no previous year placement data has been found for Tunnel Engineering. Tunnel Engineering course is part of M.Tech Civil Engineering. However, no placement data for the previous last two years for Tunnel Engineering has been found on the official website.
