IIT Jammu MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Jammu MTech course is offered across different specialisations. Some of the offered course specialisations are Data Science, VLSI Design, etc. Admission to this course is based on a GATE score followed by COAP counselling. Eligible students seeking admission must qualify for the entrance exam for admission to IIT Jammu. Candidates who wish to apply to MTech at IIT Jammu must have a valid GATE score. The candidates are screened based on their CGPI in BE/BTech and GATE scores.
The shortlisted ones are further called for a written test and interview.

* Special consideration will be given to the candidates having a BTech degree from an IIT with a minimum CPI/CGPA of 8.0 with a valid GATE score.

IIT Jammu MTech Fees 2024
IIT Jammu fee is cumulative of various components like tuition fees, security deposit, hostel fees, mess fees, and more. Yes, GATE 2024 exam dates have been announced. IISc Bangalore will conduct the GATE 2024 exam on February 3, 4, 10, and 11. The GATE 2024 application form will release on Aug 24 on the official website at gate.iisc.ac.in. The organising institute for GATE 2024 is IISc Bangalore. The exam will be conducted online as a computer-based test for 29 papers. Students will be required to solve 65 questions in 180 minutes (3 hours). IIT Jammu MTech Admission 2025: How to Apply?
There are multiple steps included in the IIT Jammu admissions, such as GATE registration, appearing for the exam, release of cutoff, and COAP counselling. The steps to be followed for IIT Jammu MTech course admissions are:
STEP 1: IIT Jammu MTech Application Process 2025
Candidates willing to apply to IIT Jammu for MTech are required to register at the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (https://coap.iitb.ac.in) and a COAP registration number is mandatory for filling out the application form on the IIT Jammu application portal. Admission offers are made via the COAP portal. Hence, the applicants are responsible for the information provided.

After registering on the COAP website, candidates must also apply on the IIT Jammu website https://eg.iitjammu.ac.in/pgapplication. The application fee per department (non-refundable) is INR 300 for General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC category candidates and INR 200 for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates. For the self-sponsored category, however, the application fee (non-refundable) is INR 500.

STEP 2: Appear for Exam, Cutoff Release & Counselling
The applicants need to take the GATE exam and secure a good score. Shortlisted candidates need to take a written test and take part in the interview round. Candidates who meet the cutoff criteria need to participate in COAP Counselling for seat allotment.
STEP 3: Admission Confirmation

IISc Bangalore (result announcing body of GATE) will announce the GATE 2024 result on March 25. To check the result, students will need to enter their GATE enrollment ID, registered email ID, and date of birth. In 2024, IISc Bangalore will conduct the GATE exam. The GATE 2026 exam will be held on February 7,8, 14, and 15 in two shifts. The GATE 2026 official website is launched - gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The information brochure is available on the website. The GATE MTech entrance exam 2026 will be held on different dates in two shifts- forenoon and afternoon. Registrations for GATE 2026 started on August 28.
IIT Jammu has released the placement report for M.Tech in Tunnel Engineering for the year 2023. As per the placement statistics 2023, the highest package offered was INR 5 LPA. As of now, no previous year placement data has been found for Tunnel Engineering. Tunnel Engineering course is part of M.Tech Civil Engineering. However, no placement data for the previous last two years for Tunnel Engineering has been found on the official website.

IIT Jammu total tuition fee for the BTech course is INR 8 lakh. The total tuition fee for the M.Tech course is INR 80,000. The fee for the MSc course is INR 26,000. Expensive or not, depends on person to person. Those students who find the fee expensive must apply for the scholarships.

Yes, you will get CSE at IIT Jammu with a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of 6000 if you belong to the General AI quota. However, you have to wait till the last round, as the cutoff ranks are generally higher in the initial rounds. For the unreserved category, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff 2025 was 5988 in the
