Freehand Drawing

The freehand drawing consists of a simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its parts in an appropriate scale. Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment, etc., from memory.

Geometrical Drawing

Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, etc.  Study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed surface holders, etc. 

Three-Dimensional Perception

Appreciation and understanding of 3-dimensional forms with building elements, colour, volume and orientation. Visualisation through structuring objects in memory.

Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity

Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping. Creativity check through innovative, uncommon tests with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping or application. 

Architectural Awareness

General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations – both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers, etc.) in the related domain.

Exam Pattern of AAT 2026

The authorities will release the AAT 2026 exam pattern online. Candidates will be able to attempt AAT 2026 as a pen-and-paper-based test. The nature of the questions will depend on and be available in the AAT 2026 paper. JEE Advanced AAT 2026 Important Dates

AAT 2026 Application form will be available on June 1 and 2, 2026. Candidates who qualify JEE Advanced can apply for AAT 2026. AAT 2026 will be conducted on June 4, 2026, at the exam centres. AAT 2026 Results will be announced soon after the exam on June 7, 2026. Candidates who qualify in AAT 2026 can apply for architecture courses in IITs
