The candidates who qualify for JEE Advanced 2025 and/or have a JEE Main 2025 rank can register for JoSAA 2025. JEE Advanced 2025 qualification will be needed for IIT admission, and the JEE Main 2025 ranks for admission to NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs.
JoSAA 2025 registration includes authentication using the JEE Main 2025 application number, candidate name, mother’s name and date of birth. Once authentication is done, candidates can login to the JoSAA online portal with their JEE Main 2025 application number, the JoSAA password created, and the OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. Once logged in, candidates must verify their details and confirm the same.
After the JoSAA registration, candidates can proceed to fill in their choices of institutes and programmes for admissions. Candidates can select the institute types, the name of the institute and the programme from the list displayed. Applicants must add as many choices as possible from the list in order of their preference. The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.
The JoSAA 2025 choice filling window will open with the registration window on June 3, 2025. Candidates will be able to register and then fill the choices of courses and colleges based on their JEE Main/Advanced ranks and category.

JoSAA Counselling 2025 Registration Fee
There is no fee charged during the JoSAA registration. However, there is a processing fee that is to be paid with the seat acceptance fee. The JoSAA processing fee is included in the seat acceptance fee which is to be paid on receiving a seat allotment for the first time in the respective round.

The filling-in of choices on the online portal is free of cost. The candidate must pay the seat acceptance fee before continuing with the JoSAA process till the end to avail the seat in an IIT or NIT. The documents uploaded by the candidate will not be verified unless the candidate pays the seat acceptance fee. General/Open category candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 35,000, whereas SC, Gen-PwD, ST, OBC-NCL-PwD, ST-PwD, and SC-PwD have to pay INR 17,500. The fees will be included in the semester fees once students confirm their admission.

Yes. Apart from JEE Main/JEE Advanced rabks, class 12 marks are also considered for admission to IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs. It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility.
- Candidates should have JEE Main and/or JEE Advanced rank.
- Candidates must have at least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates must be at least 65%.
- Candidates must be within the category wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12 board.
The age limit will be applicable as mentioned in JEE Main/JEE Advanced brochure and official website. There is no seperate age limit criteria prescribed for JoSAA counselling.

There are no additional documents that need uploading during the JoSAA registration. All the data will be fetched from the JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025 registrations of the candidates. However, some important documents rea to be uploaded to the JoSAA online portal by the candidates who are allotted seats for verification of documents. Yes. Birth certificate is needed to prove age in JoSAA counselling. But if you do not have the birth certificate, then you can upload Aadhaar card or Class 10 marksheet/certificate.
Yes. Foreign nationals who wish to take admission to IITs have to apply for JoSAA counselling. The seats in the IITs will be alloted based on their JEE Advanced ranks. However, the all foreign nationals studying in any country including India or Indian nationals studying abroad have to apply for DASA counselling for admission to UG engineering and architecture courses offered at NITs, IIITs, SPAs and CFTIs. Admission will be based on JEE Main 2025 ranks as declared by NTA.
During the process of document verification in JoSAA, if there is any mismatch between the document uploaded earlier by the candidate JEE Main registration site, JEE Advanced registration site and the document uploaded by the candidate on the JoSAA portal, the offer of admission will be withdrawn. The candidates shall be debarred from further rounds of seat allocation. Thus, the candidate will forfeit the eligibility for admissions to any of the institutes through JoSAA. The decision of JoSAA on this issue shall be final and binding.
JoSAA Counselling 2025 Registration: Change of Personal and Other Details
At the time of registration on the JoSAA website, candidates will NOT be allowed to change their details such as
- Name
- Father’s Name
- Mother’s Name
- Guardian’s Name
- Date of birth
- Class XII (or equivalent) examination board
- Birth category.

Step 1: New Candidate Registration
- The first time registering candidates have to authenticate themselves with JEE Main 2025 details. Click on the link that says “New Candidate Registration”.
- In the next step enter JEE Main 2025 application number, date of birth, Mother’s name, and candidate’s name.
- Submit the details and verify the OTP sent to the JEE Main 2025 registered email ID and phone number.
- Create a new password in the next step for the JoSAA portal and proceed to login.
Step 2: Logging into the JoSAA 2025 Candidate Portal
- The candidate will be redirected to the JoSAA candidate portal after registration.
- Login with the JEE Main 2025 application number and the JoSAA password created.
- Verify the OTP sent to the registered email ID and phone number.
- Read important instructions and check the details like - personal details, JEE Main/Advanced details/Ranks, gender, nationality, passing place of class 12 examination, and state of eligibility. JoSAA 2025 Counselling Application Form: Important Instructions
Candidates must check the below important instructions for JoSAA registration:
- Confidentiality of Password is solely the responsibility of the candidate and all care must be taken to protect the password.
- Candidates are advised to keep changing the Password at frequent intervals.
- Never share your password and do not respond to any mail which asks you for your Login ID/Password. NIC/JoSAA does not request such information by email.

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission
