IIT Patna provides a range of Merit-Cum-Means scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Any UG (BTech) student can receive these scholarships. The criteria to receive is that the annual income of a student's parents/ guardian/ family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not be more than INR 4.50 lakh.

IIT Patna BTech FAQs 2025
The Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced 2025 application form has been released on April 23, 2025. Only those Indian candidates who secure JEE Main 2025 rank among the top 2.5 lakh candidates become eligible to fill the JEE Advanced application form. The application process is online and the form is available only on the official website. As the first step, every student needs to register through the official website by providing their JEE Main 2025 roll number, password, and security pin. As the second step, students have to enter various personal details like their name, parents’ name, communication details, address details etc. in the specific columns of JEE Advanced 2025 application form. The details entered in the application form must be accurate as the incorrect details may lead to the cancellation of candidature at later stages. Students will also need to enter their choices of exam centres while filling out the application form. Apart from the details, students will also need to upload scanned images of their passport-size photographs and signature. After submitting all the details, students must take multiple printouts of the final application form for future requirements
For BTech and BS, the admission process is completely conducted by JoSAA after students appear for their JEE Main and JEE Advanced exam. For other courses, such as MSc and MTech, admission is subject to GATE and IIT JAM followed by COAP and CCMN Counselling. For PhD, students are required to appear for the admission test conducted by the institute for seat allocation. After the test, IIT Patna releases a merit list with the names of students shortlisted for PhD.
NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 dates on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The session 1 exam will likely be conducted in January last week. The JEE Main 2026 exam date session 2 will be April first week. The JEE Main 2026 application form will be released in november.
