A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form will be available from Apr 23, 2026, to May 2, 2026, for admission to the BE/BTech course. Also, the JEE Advanced exam 2026 will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registration for session 2 has closed for IIT Patna admission to BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 counselling registration is open for admission to the MSc course, with the last date being set on Apr 15, 2026. Also, the first admission list will be declared tentatively on May 25, 2026.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. No, there is no provision of a student studying free at IIT Patna as per the official website. However, IIT Patna provides a range of Merit-Cum-Means scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Any UG (BTech) student or MSc student can receive these scholarships. The criteria to receive is that the annual income of a student's parents/ guardian/ family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not be more than INR 4.50 lakh. Category-wise eligibility criteria and the way in which the scholarship is offered is as follows:

Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.

No, the GATE registrations for IIT Patna 2026 MSc admissions are no longer open. The GATE registrations were closed in the month of November 2025. The GATE is scheduled to take place in the month of February 2026. Candidates who failed to register for the GATE are required to wait for the GATE 2027
