Yes, CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is compulsory for admissions to undergraduate programs in most Central Universities in India. It serves as a unified entrance exam for students seeking admission to various undergraduate courses across participating Central Universities. Each university sets its eligibility criteria, but CUET scores are a primary criterion for admission. Exceptions may exist for certain specialised programs or institutions, but for most central universities, CUET is now an essential requirement for UG admissions.

Q:   How do I select the domain subjects for CUET UG?
A:

Go on the official website of university/organaisation. Check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university from the following sections:

  • Section I - 13 Languages
  • Section II - 23 Domain Specific Subjects
  • Section III - General Test

A:

National Testing Agency (NTA) released the CUET UG 2026 application form at cuet.nta.nic.in. The last date was February 04, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. CUET UG application process comprises registration, form filling, uploading documents, and payment of fees. Before applying, check the eligibility criteria for CUET UG exam.

Mahatma Gandhi Central University CUET 2026 Admission Process

Candidates planning to get admission at Mahatma Gandhi Central University based on CUET 2026 scores must first register themselves at mgcubcuet.samarth.edu.in by filling in their CUET Application Number, Date-of-Birth, and Captcha. Once verified, candidates will be successfully registered for the further admission process.

Candidates can follow these steps to fill the application form:

  • Visit the SAMARTH portal to log in - mgcubcuet.samarth.edu.in and register yourself under 'New Registration'.
  • Log in by clicking on the tab Registered User Login, by entering your CUET Application Number as username.
  • Enter your secret password.
  • Enter the Captcha & click on login.
  • Click on Complete Profile to fill in the registration details (Profile, Other and document upload)
  • Click on Save Details.
  • Fill in the required sections, including Programme selection, Academic details, and other details asked on separate pages.
  • Upload the relevant documents in the mentioned size and format.

Q:   Who conducts CUET UG counselling?
A:

The CUET UG counselling is conducted by the universities acepting CUET UG scores seperately. Candidates will have to apply seperately for each university to appear for the CUET UG counselling process. National Testing Agency (NTA) has no role in conduction counselling process for CUET UG admissions. The participating universities conduct CUET counselling on the basis of candidate's CUET score and college preferences. The candidates are supposed to fill the forms for college and course for seat allotment. Candidates must stay updated with the important dates for admission to participating universities. 

Q:   What is the last date to apply for CUET UG counselling?
A:

CUET UG counselling registration last date depends from university to university. Each participating university sets its own counselling registration deadlines. Therefore, candidates must stay updated with admission and cut off dates of universities they wish to apply to.
