IIT Roorkee BSc Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Roorkee BSc is a four-year UG-level programme offered with six specialisations spread across different fields of study. IIT Roorkee also offers a five-year Integrated MSc programme for students willing to pursue a PG-integrated course.
Interested candidates must have passed 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate to be eligible to apply for IIT Roorkee BSc courses. Further, admissions to both these courses are based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores, followed by JoSAA counselling.
Fees: IIT Roorkee BSc fees range between INR 8 lakhs to INR 10 lakhs depending on the chosen course. This fee is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is, however, subject to changes and hence, is indicative. This amount comprises the tuition fee for a course duration of four to five years. IIT Roorkee BSc course admission is done based on students’ performance in JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. Thus, in order to apply for IIT Roorkee BSc, students must first apply for and qualify JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. Following is a step by step guide for IIT Roorkee admissions:
STEP 1: IIT Roorkee BSc Application Process 2025
In order to apply for BSc and Integrated MSc courses at IIT Roorkee, students must first apply for JEE Main. The registration for JEE Main starts around the month of February and the exam is conducted around the month of April.
Step 2: JEE Advanced Registration 2025
Students who qualify the JEE Main examination are further required to complete the JEE Advanced application process. JEE Advanced examination is generally conducted in the month of May. Listed below are steps to register for JEE Advanced 2025:
- Visit JEE Advanced official website at https://jeeadv.ac.in/
- Click on the ‘Registration’ option located in the main menu

In order to get into BSc at IIT Roorkee candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75%. Further, the candidate is required to qualify JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. The highest amount of scholarship is offered under the MCM scholarship. In this scholarship IIT Roorkee offers various benefits. A student availing MCM scholarship will get INR 1,000 per month for 10 months per academic year and refund of the remaining tuition fee.
In the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme, BTech student gets his/her tuition fee waived as per the following criteria.
Full Tuition Fee Waiver– Offered to the most economically backward students having a family income of less than INR 1 LPA during the previous financial year or current assessment year.
2/3 Tuition Fee Waiver– Offered to economically backward students having a family income in the range of INR 1 LPA to INR 5 LPA during the previous financial year or current assessment year
The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is available only for the normal duration of the programme. For dual degree programmes, it is available only up to the 4th year.
