- The JEE Main 2026 registration process for the first session for IIT Ropar admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses is expected to start in Oct 2025.
- The IIT JAM 2026 registration has now begun for admission to the MSc course. The last date to register is tentatively Oct 12, 2025. Furthermore, the exam will be held on Feb 15, 2026.

IIT Ropar Admission Process 2025
IIT Ropar's admission process includes the application process, selection round, cutoff, merit list, and counseling. The step-wise admission process is given below:
Step 1: IIT Ropar Application Process
Candidates seeking admission at IIT Ropar are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, for BTech, candidates are required to apply for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. Similarly, for the MSc, IIT JAM application form is required to be completed.
Step 2: Selection Rounds
IIT Ropar admits students to BTech courses based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree), and BS courses. Admission to MTech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling. The institute considers IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling for MSc courses. Candidates can check with the admission office for the selection rounds of the rest of the courses.
Step 3: Release of Cutoff list, Counselling & Admission Confirmation
The cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies. IIT Ropar will release the course-wise merit list for merit-based courses on its official website. As per the merit list, candidates are called for counselling for seat allotment. Shortlisted candidates must then pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.

As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech.
So, considering the previous year Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to IIIT Allahabad must secure a rank over and above 4800 and 9600 for the General ALL India category candidates.

· You can check the cutoff norms for a variety of institutions, as each institution has its own set of criteria for cutoff scores. IIT Ropar Application Process 2025
For admission to the IIT Ropar courses, candidates must visit the official website of respective national-level entrance exam conducting bodies and fill out the application form in online mode. Given below is the course-wise accepted entrance exam:

In order to apply for BTech IIT Ropar, students are required to apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. The application process for JEE Main 2025 consists of three steps, i.e., registration, form filling & document uploading, followed by payment of application fees.
- Visit the official website of IIT Ropar (https://www.iitrpr.ac.in/). On its homepage, click on the ‘Admission’ tab and choose ‘PG’ from the drop-down menu.
- Click on ‘Application Procedure’ to proceed further. The online application portal opens up. The admission brochure and course structure PDFs can be downloaded from this page.
- Click on ‘New User Register Here'. Fill the registration form with all the details, including name, email ID, contact number, course preference, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.
- Further, fill in the remaining application form by addressing other details, including guardian info, address of communication, etc. Also, upload a passport-size photograph and signature at this step.
- Pay an application fee in the online mode through SBI payment gateway using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
- Proceed with the second-last step of the application form by filling in the entrance exam, work experience (if any), reference & publications (for PhD applicants), and academic details.
- Conclude the application process by approving the self-declaration and hitting the ‘Submit’ button. Candidates can also download and print the application form for future reference.

MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG-level course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech at the institute is INR 34,000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37,200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission. However, under the acquired rank of 7000, candidates can opt for Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering Physics, and Chemical Engineering programs. Further, as per the IIT Ropar cutoff 2024 for JEE Advanced, the cutoff rank for aforementioned courses for the General AI category candidates stood at 8836, 10097, and 11365, respectively.
Under the acquired rank of 12000, candidates cannot get admission for OBC Female category. First of all, IIT Ropar do not release its cutoffs based on Gender and State-level quota. Considering the IIT Ropar cutoff 2024 for JEE Advanced, the required rank should be under 1084 and 4968 for the OBC AI quota. So, 12000 is not enough rank to secure a seat at IIT Ropar.
