IIT BHU Placements 2026: Highest Package, Average Package, Top Companies

IIT BHU has maintained consistent placement record over the past two years. In past two years, the highest package has gone above INR 1 Crore per annum. The average recorded in 2026 and 2025 was 29 LPA and 24.49 LPA.

A total of 292 PPOs were made during IIT BHU placements 2026. In 2025, 297 Pre-Placement offers were made.

Yes, IIT BHU offers international placements to its students. During the placement drive 2025, out of 1416 offers made, 4 were international offers. The highest international package in 2025 was INR 2.2 Crore per annum.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. IIT Varanasi has released the category-wise cutoffs for various BTech specialisations. For BTech admissions, JEE Advanced is conducted widely by IITs. A JEE Advanced rank of 3000 under OBC category can be considered as the decent rank, however, this rank is insufficient to secure BTech in CSE programme in 2024. The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.

IIT BHU offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture, and Pharmacy. Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the IIT Varanasi courses. IIT BHU eligibility varies from course to course. At the UG level, the college offers BTech and other courses to students. At the PG level, the college offers MPharma, and other courses to students.

IIT BHU admissions are done solely on the basis of entrance tests as prescribed by the state/national norms. Students must appear for the entrance tests like JEE Main or JEE advanced for Engineering admissions. IIT BHU does provide combined programmes of BTech and M.Tech in many specialisation. These programmes enable the students to pursue both their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a combined format. The admission requirements to such integrated courses frequently have a minimum of 75% board examination marks (or equivalent) in Class 12 (or equivalent) besides other conditions.

Candidates who have BE/BTech/MSc or equivalent with (a) CGPA 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/EWS. Category with valid GATE score BTech from IITs with CGPA of 8.00 without GATE are also eligible for admission. AMIE / Grad. IETE are eligible for the M.Tech programme at IIT BHU.

MTech programme at IIT BHU Varanasi is one of the most popular programmes offered by the institution. It is a two year course and it is split in four semesters. The process of admission into any of the MTech programmes in IIT Varanasi depends on the performance of the candidates in Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering (GATE) exam. The individuals who have scored at least equal to or more than the cutoff mentioned, are also necessary to undergo through a counseling session as a part of the admission process.

IIT BHU accepts JEE Advanced score, followed by JoSAA Counselling for admission to the BTech courses. IIT BHU cutoff 2023 was concluded after Round 6 of the JEE Advanced Seat Allotment Result.
