NIT Goa Admission Overview 2025
NIT Goa admission 2025 is strictly entrance-based. The college offers various programmes that include BTech, MTech, and PhD. The selection criteria is engtrance based with the college accepting scores of national-level entrance exams namely JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, etc. Final allocation of seats to the BTech Programme is done through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling.

DASA is the abbreviation for Direct Admission of Students Abroad. Yes, candidates can get direct admission to BTech courses through DASA at NIT Goa but the seats allocated through DASA are only reserved for Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) / Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), not for every student. However, for admission through DASA candidates are required to qualify for their basic eligibility criteria that state: Admissions are based on SAT scores, and candidates need a valid SAT subject test score in Mathematics Level 2, Physics, and Chemistry.
For general/OBC students whose family income is above 5 Lacs per annum is Rs. 66,700 in odd sem and in even is Rs.62,500. And if family income is between 1 Lacs to 5 Lacs then 1/3 of tuition fee and if below 1 Lacs and SC/ST student then full tuition fee exempted.

1- NIT Goa Application Process
Candidates seeking admission at NIT Goa are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. 2- Selection Rounds

3- Release of Cutoff list, Counselling & Admission Confirmation

Whereas, for MBA admission, the institute releases direct merit lists after declaring the final results of all rounds. NIT Goa offers a four-year full-time BTech course at the undergraduate level. NIT Goa BTech admission is completely entrance-based and depends on candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam, followed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. The JoSAA counselling begins in September. There will be 6 rounds of seat allotment.

NIT Goa JEE Main cutoff 2025 was concluded with the final round cutoff result being declared for various categories under both the All India and Home State quota.
For the General AI category, students would need to secure a rank between 11696 and 57181, according to the closing ranks in the first and last rounds.

Yes, candidates can change their BTech branch at NIT Goa after the first year. A student admitted to a particular branch of the undergraduate programme will continue studying in that branch till completion. However, the Institute may permit a student admitted through JEE (Main)/DASA quota, to change from one branch of studies to another after the first two semesters.
To change the BTech branch at NIT Goa, candidates are required to complete the eligibility criteria laid down:
- Candidates must have completed all the credits required in the first two semesters of their studies in their first attempt.
- Branch changes are usually based on candidates' CGPA, which will be calculated based on candidates' scores of the beginning two semesters. Students need a high CGPA (often above 8.5 or 9.0) to be eligible and get a seat in another branch. Sometimes the seat also plays a major role in switching the BTech branch.
