I'm satisfied with placements but infrastructure is not good.
Placements: Around 80% of mechanical students get placed in our college. The highest salary package offered in 2021 was 9 LPA and the average salary package was 7 LPA. The roles offered are SDE, Data analyst, etc. Companies like Ashok Leyland and BPCL offer placements in our college with a salary package of 20 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our campus is very small as it is on a temporary campus. Classrooms have air-conditioners. Wi-Fi is available on campus. Hostel is not good and the food quality is very poor. New campus will have all the facilities. Students are not sent to Inter NIT sports because it is held far from our campus.
Faculty: All the teachers in our college are helpful and well-qualified. Most of them have done Ph.D. from IITs. The course curriculum of mechanical engineering includes DSA in 4th year. Exams are very difficult but are easy to pass because of relative marking. It is difficult to score a good CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because I like mechanical engineering. Students of our course get both government and IT jobs. Events and fests are organised in our college but not like IITs or private colleges. Campus crowd is less because there are 180 students in B.Tech courses of all departments together. Faculty and student ratio is not good.

Our college has good placements but not that good infrastructure.
Placements: There is 100% placement in the mechanical department. The highest salary package is 15 LPA, the lowest is 6 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. The top recruiters are L & T, Bridgestone, and Capgemini. About 90% of students got internships at Renault and Nissan. The top roles offered in our course are data analysts, software engineers, and design engineers.
Infrastructure: Currently, NIT Goa doesn't have its own permanent campus. The temporary campus has an academic block where classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and projectors. Wi-Fi is available on campus. There are multiple labs and a library. Food quality is fine. There's a sports room on the campus. Medical facilities are available with an ambulance.
Faculty: Teachers are all well qualified. Most of them have Ph.D.s in their respective subjects. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Exams are a bit tough, but the grading is based on a percentile system. The topper gets 100% and the others are graded on that basis.
Other: I love mechanical things, and that's the reason I chose this branch. There are a lot of fests and events at the college. The campus has good connectivity with the airport and railway station, nearly 40 minutes away. The campus crowd is good.

I am satisfied with the college because of cooperative people.
Placements: As we are in the 3rd year and we are the first batch of mechanical. Due to COVID pandemic, we were unable to do internships. But looking at other branch placement, it is fixed that you will not be unemployed. NIT GOA has more than 90% placement because it is Goa, companies come here.
Infrastructure: We have good facilities like Wi-Fi, classrooms and library. But labs are insufficient here. In the library, you will get only course books. The quality of the food served is good everywhere, and the canteen is also fine. Medical facilities are not up to the mark. Sports and games are fine. We have enough space to play in. It is a temporary campus, so there is no large space.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. But there is a lack of experience in teaching. The course curriculum was quite old. I think it's not up to the industry-need. Students got placed because of the hard work and multisubject knowledge.
Other: I opted for this course because I was always interested in mechanical engineering. It's very interesting to know about working of machine production and many more. Annual event called Saavyas is held for three days. The college is gigantic and has a good crowd. The campus is quite small, but in IIT and GEC we use every place for enjoying.

National institute of technology, Goa.
Placements: It's a new branch in NIT Goa. 1st campus placement of mechanical branch will take place in year 2022. All other branches have a good average placement and is increasing year by year. Last year CSE and ECE branch placement was 100 percent and their average package was around 7 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The college do not have a permanent campus. So there are bit as compared to other NIT'S less facilities. But no need to worry about small campus as new campus is being constructed and hope we will get the new campus in june 2021. Wi-fi facility is there.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Almost all the faculty members have done M.Tech or Ph.D. and that to from IIT'S or NIT'S or IISC or any other big colleges of INDIA or outside. Teachers are very helpful here with good teaching ability. From placement point of view this college is good.

Q:   Can I change my B.Tech branch at NIT Goa after completing first year?
    A:

Yes, candidates can change their BTech branch at NIT Goa after the first year. A student admitted to a particular branch of the undergraduate programme will continue studying in that branch till completion. However, the Institute may permit a student admitted through JEE (Main)/DASA quota, to change from one branch of studies to another after the first two semesters.

To change the BTech branch at NIT Goa, candidates are required to complete the eligibility criteria laid down:

    • Candidates must have completed all the credits required in the first two semesters of their studies in their first attempt.
    • Branch changes are usually based on candidates' CGPA, which will be calculated based on candidates' scores of the beginning two semesters. Students need a high CGPA (often above 8.5 or 9.0) to be eligible and get a seat in another branch. Sometimes the seat also plays a major role in switching the BTech branch.
