Average placements in M.Tech, decent infrastructure, state of the art sport & hostel facilities.

Placements: The placements are relatively low in M.Tech, especially in civil engineering as compared to other branches. One may get teaching jobs easily in reputed coaching institutes as they visit campus for recruitment. Also, one may also apply for a post of lecturer in engineering colleges, as the minimum requirement for teaching B.Tech students in an engineering college is M.Tech degree, and M.Tech degree from NIT speaks volumes.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average as compared to other NITs. But we still have the requisite labs, classrooms and other facilities. The sports facilities are fantastic here. The hostels are magnificent, it gives a feeling of being at home. Single room facilities are also available. The mess food is excellent.

Faculty: The teachers are good with a depth of experience. The teaching methods used are conventional. In M.Tech, faculty to student ratio is 1:15 and that's pretty good. We get the right kind of exposure, and industry visits are a part of our curriculum. The campus is more inclined towards shaping the students fit for the industry. Different workshops are conducted on a daily basis.

Other: There are two mega-events or say fests that are conducted in the college. We have our cultural fest called "culfest" and techno-management fest called "ojass", which is by-far the second biggest fest in eastern India. We have our annual sports meet called "urja". Students have enormous opportunities to showcase their skills.
