To apply for M.Tech admission at NIT Meghalaya, prospective candidates are required to follow the application process specified by the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) authorities. NIT Meghalaya accepts GATE score for admission to the M.Tech courses. As per the NIT Meghalaya M.Tech cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for M.Tech ranged between 356 and 424, among which CSE was the most competitive specialisation. For a few of the M.Tech sepcialisations, the cutoff stands closed after Round 1, 2 and 3. As per the last year cutoff data, the minimum GATE cutoff for NIT Meghalaya was 356 for M.Tech in CSE.

Once students have registered on the GATE application portal, they must participate in the subsequent CCMT counselling process.
