NIT Meghalaya M.Sc. Courses & Fees

NIT Meghalaya offeres two years full-time MSc progarmme especially for the graduate students to pursue their studies in the fields of science. However, candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the institution, which are as follows:

• Candidates must have bachelor’a degree in BSc with 60% aggregate
• Must qualify for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT Jam) with a valid score
• Register for seat allocation through the Centralized Counselling for MSc (CCMN)

For admission to MSc programme at NIT Meghalaya candidate must complete the institution's entrance standards, which include achieving a valid score in the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test for MSc followed by CCMN Counselling.  Also candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria i.e. Bachelor's degree with 60% aggregate.  NIT Meghalaya conducts its own admission process for the left over seats from the CCMN counselling process.

IIT JAM subjects include Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, and Physics. Students can appear for their subjects of choice.

Direct admission is not offered for MSc at NIT Meghalaya. Admission to MSc is based on the JAM scores followed by CCMN counselling. However, the institute conducts entrance exam to fill the vacant seats after CCMN counselling. Further, before applying for the MSc programme, candidates must qualify for the course-wise eligibility criteria.

Yes, IIT Jam 2024 dates for admission to NIT Meghalaya MSc programme are out now but the dates are tentative. The MSc registraton has closed for now. IITs will conduct  IIT JAM 2024 exam in two sessions in February. The exact date of the exam for both sessions will be announced in the notification. Yes, NIT Meghalaya offers MSc as a postgraduate programme for two years. The programme is offered across three specialisations which include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates willing to be admission in MSc must have a bachelor’s degree with 60% aggregate in Chemistry as an Honours/Major. Additionally, candidates are required to qualify the IIT Jam exam and apply for the CCMN counseling. If candidates fail to secure a seat via the CCMN they can always go for the institution-based entrance exam conducted especially for the vacant seats left after the CCMN counselling process.

The programme is offered via choice-based credit system covering core subject topics, including Organic Chemistry, Symmetry & Group Theory, Molecular Spectroscopy, etc. Students can get into the MSc course based on a valid score on the IIT JAM exam and the counseling conducted by the Centralized Counseling for MSc CCMN
