NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, NIT Meghalaya ranks #83 under the category 'Engineering'.
A few more updates are given below:
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam for admission to the MSc course is scheduled for Feb 15, 2026.
- The CSAB Special Counselling 2025 Round 3 has concluded with the announcement of the seat allotment results for admission to BE/BTech courses.
- The GATE 2026 registrations are now over for admission to Ph.D. and ME/Mtech course. The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registration process for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses is expected to start from Oct 2025 onwards. For session 1, the JEE Main 2026 exam will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.

The total tuition fee of the M.Tech programme at IIIT Bhagalpur is INR 6,500. These fees are excluded of other fees that are payable only at the time of admission. NIT Meghalaya offers BTech programmes with a duration of four years. BTech programme at NIT Meghalaya is offered in provides five specialisations for the BTech programme, which include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The eligibility criteria for the BTech specialisations includes tweleve years of shcool education with 75% aggregate. National entrance exams is the source of admission for the BTech programme.
As per the round 3 of JEE Main cutoff 2025, it is possible to get admission to NIT Raipur with a rank of 45000 in JEE Main. The cutoff for the General AI category candidates was closed at 22131 and 48977. Looking at the cutoff range, it was evident that getting admission at 45000 rank is possible, among the General AI category candidates.
NIT Meghalaya - National Institute of Technology Fee Structure
NIT Meghalaya fees vary based on the selected course. The course fee range from INR 30,000 to 5,00,000. It is as per the official website/ sanctioning. The total fee for the BTech programme at NIT Meghalaya is INR 1.4 lakh. Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year 2024, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than INR 1.00 Lacs per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between INR1.00 to 5.00 Lacs per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.
MSc seat allocation for MSc is done via the CCMN counselling. Candidates must participate in the CCMN counselling where they release cutoff for selection of students. The CCMN Counselling 2023 for the three specialisations was concluded after Round 5. The CCMN Last Round (Closing Rank) in Physics stood at 2417, in Mathematics it was 2462, and finally in Chemistry it was 2150.
NIT Meghalaya JEE Main Round 6 cutoff for Computer Science Engineering is 19175 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in NIT Meghalaya.

The NIT Meghalaya GATE Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. The Cutoff scores ranged between 352 and 492. The most competitive course was CSE among all. The Cutoff score for CSE was 492, for the General AI category candidates. Therefore, candidate with the Cutoff score of 450 cannot get M.Tech in CSE at NIT Meghalaya.
For the OBC AI category candidates, the most competitive course was CSE with the Cutoff of 423. Therefore candidate falling under OBC AI category getting a score of 450 can get M.Tech in CSE at NIT Meghalaya.
For NIT Meghalaya, the admission criteria and cutoff marks may vary depending on the year and the category of the candidate.
In the General category, you typically need to score a high percentile in entrance exams . To have a competitive chance, a percentile of around 97 or above may be required. However, please note that this is a rough estimate and the actual cutoff may vary.

Candidates willing to be admission in MSc must have a bachelor’s degree with 60% aggregate in Chemistry as an Honours/Major. Additionally, candidates are required to qualify the IIT Jam exam and apply for the CCMN counseling. You can get CSE in GFTI as per the JoSSA counselling cutoff last year. You cannot get any branch, like CSE, ECE in NIT at this rank.
