NIT Surathkal College Review.
Placements: Over 95% of our students land jobs after graduation from our college. This year, the highest salary package from my branch hit around 50 LPA, while the average for core electrical engineering was about 15 LPA. The big names doing the recruiting include Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Nvidia, Tata, TCS, Jio, and a whole bunch more. Its worth noting that nearly all students who applied for internships got one, but those who did not throw their hat in the bring brought the overall internship numbers down a bit.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available all across campus, and the hostels have LAN, too. The labs were fully stocked and really good. The library had over 200,000 books on just about every topic you can think of. I would have to say, when it comes to food, I would give it a 2 out of 5. The medical and sports facilities were pretty solid overall. The second year student hostels arena. It was the best, but the others were just fine. The food was decent, too.
Faculty: Teachers had solid qualifications and extensive teaching experience. Our course fits well within our environment. The semester exams were pretty tough, so getting a good grade requires some serious effort. So, overall, the faculty members were good and approachable.

It is the best way to live a life and life in NITK.
Placements: We have an electrical and electronics engineering branch in NITK which is one of the first branches in our institute. Around 80% of students get placed on campus every year and this year it is not an exception. The highest package is 44 LPA and the lowest package is 6 LPA. The average package is 18 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course include Texas Instruments, ARM, Bajaj, Sony, Samsung, Philips, etc. A majority of students get placed as embedded engineers, graduate engineers, and trainees. Around 30% of students got internships and are majorly in analyst roles.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, it is very good. We have sophisticated labs, a well-deserved learning environment, and classrooms with AC. Availability of Wi-Fi and classrooms are also present in it. The library is also in good condition with more books. Sports and games are also given good priority and thus are more entertaining.
Faculty: Teachers are highly responsible, intellectually brilliant, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant and has no gist in it. Semester exams are difficult and require around a week of preparation for it. The pass percentage is 20%.
Other: I wanted to become an electrical engineer from early on and I got 10,000 rank in JEE so I took EEE in NITK. The best thing in the course is that we have more projects that are practically more related. Things which can improve about our course are that labs are way more hectic in a course having 5 to 6 credits. Events are way good. The campus crowd is also nicely populated. Extracurricular activities are always conducted here.

College is pretty good; a good amount of companies come for placements and internships.
Placements: My branch is electrical and electronics. People from my branch can get into both core and software; however, getting placed in core is quite hard, so most of the students try for software jobs. Almost all companies allow our branch for placements. 80-90 percent of students from our branch get placed.
Infrastructure: Yes, we have decent labs, but the equipment is a little old. We get Wi-Fi facility 24 hours, which is quite fast. There are 2 libraries: central library and e-library. The central library is open till 5:30, while the e-library is open till midnight. You can go and study there. AC facility is also there.
Faculty: Faculty is average. Anyhow, you study on your own in engineering, so it doesn't matter much. Exams in the electrical branch are quite easy. I don't know why people call it the toughest branch. By studying one night before the exam, you can easily get an 8 CGPA. I think the curriculum is not that related to industrial standards; you need to study extra.
Other: The best thing about electrical is that there is not much theory to memorize. Everything is based on understanding concepts, so I find this branch quite interesting. To improve the course, I guess we need to have more courses that would help in getting us into companies.

NITK’s inside as seen by a UG undergrad.
Placements: The placements here are quite amazing. We have around 95% placements here. We are also having a placements cell which will guide us through our placements process. Around 93% placements are done in my department with a median package of 15 LPA (Lacs per annum).
Infrastructure: The EEE department is located on the western side of the campus which is on the other side of NH 66. We have a 24*7 WiFi facility. But the Wi-Fi in the hostels is a bit lower in speed. There are two libraries including a central library and a digital library which are quite good. There is a canteen inside the campus named the food court. There is also a health care facility next to the ground.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified. The semester exams are not very easy, but again, they are manageable. The difficulty level of these exams is a bit lower when compared to JEE exams. Having a deeper understanding of the concepts helps a lot here.

College life at NIT surathkal.
Placements: Around 95%+ students get placed in our college. The highest package this year from my branch was about 50 LPA and in core electrical, the average salary was about 15 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Nvidia, Tata, TCS, jio and many more. Almost all students got internships if they applied and those who didn't apply decreased the percentage of internships. Some of the students also got a PPO (pre-placement offer ) from the internship company. Control engineer, software, hardware, etc. are some of the major roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good here and most of the buildings are new, especially for Masters students. Lots of facilities are provided here by the college, like Wi-Fi, LAN, and a library, which are also very good. There are two libraries here: one is central and the other is an e-library. In the hostel, the food is decent—not too bad, not too good. The sports facilities are good here, especially for indoor sports but for outdoor sports like cricket, they are not good.
Faculty: The faculty is good, mostly except for some of the professors. Faculty are very hilly; they don't want attendance to be 75% mandatory; they just want to learn things. Semester exams are good but as EEE (electrical and electronics) is the most difficult branch, there are lots of labs and stuff.
Other: I chose this course because, as we know here, admission is JEE Main rank-based so according to my rank, I am eligible for this course and I am also interested in electrical engineering. If we focus more on labs than the theory part, this will improve our skills There are many festivals, a big opportunity for the scholars and many other sports activities.

If you are eligible to get a seat in Electronics and Communications, then I would suggest you take it over Electrical and Electronics in NITK. As EC is a better branch in terms of faculty and placements, then EEE in NITK.

Board marks doesn’t matter, but depends only on your rank. Please compare with the cut-offs of the last year for NITK. https://www.shiksha.com/college/national-institute-of-technology-surathkal-mangalore-24187/admission#admission
