Review of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
Placements: 95 percent of students got placed from my course in my college. The highest package is 80 LPA offered in my course, the average package is 30 LPA offered in my course, and the lowest package is 10 LPA offered in my course. 90 percent of students got an internship from my course in my college.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good, and infrastructure is good. They provide the Wi-Fi, which is very useful for networking. In labs, provide the AC and projector. Classrooms are good, and we provide the AC and projector for display. The library is good, and it provides AC and a projector. The hostel is good for quality food.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good teachers. We are approaching students with friendliness. We are very knowledgeable. Teaching is good. In the semester, we have conducted two mid exams and a final exam. The pass percentage of exams is 40 percent. We have got 40 percent of marks in the final exam, but we can pass the entire semester.

Come join this amazing college.
Placements: NIT Rourkela guys are more benefited with placements. There are more than 300 companies offering jobs in our college. The main companies for the electronics branch are Texas Instruments, which offers about 35 LPA. The second most important company is Qualcomm, and it offers 28 LPA.
Infrastructure: Coming to classroom facilities, there are two lecture halls. Every classroom has 2 air conditioners. Room is allotted to two people. There is a facility that you can select your roommate. In the hostel room, you will be given a table and a chair and two charging points. Coming to the mess, the food quality is good but bad in taste. Fee for room is 5000 per semester and 20000 for mess.
Faculty: NIT Rourkela has a 1:15 faculty-to-student ratio. For every department, one faculty advisor is appointed. After every semester, we need to give feedback on professors of the completed semester. We also need to give a review to the faculty advisor. As we know, in every college, electrical department professors are a bit strict; the same repeats in our college. In the curriculum, the electronics department has digital electronics, analog electronics, and so on. Up to 3rd semester, everyone will have mathematics, and the syllabus for every department is the same. In the first year, all departments have the same subjects.
Other: The part of the engineering college is the fests. In NIT Rourkela, there are mainly four fests: Innovision, technical fest, Virridhi, sports fest, Cosmo, cultural fest, Nitrutsav

The infrastructure is old, the life is hectic, peers are highly competitive.
Placements: In electronics and instrumentation, 100% placement is available. In 2024, the highest package is 1.2 CPA from EI for a software development role in a new start-up company, which was off-campus. Top companies include Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, American Express, Visa, and many more visit our college.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are very poor for girls. For the 1st and 2nd years, the hostel KMS is quite old, making it rundown with poor bathroom conditions and Wi-Fi doesn't work in every room—only in the rooms near the outer edge. The rest of the rooms have LAN, but students need to arrange their own Wi-Fi. The quality of food is just okay—edible, but not expecting too much from a government college mess. For 3rd and 4th years, the hostel CVR was supposed to be single-occupancy, but it is allotted as double-sharing, which makes the small space very stifling.
Faculty: Semester exams are very tough, making it difficult to secure a high GPA or CGPA. There are quizzes, lab tests, and vivas every week, which makes the schedule very hectic. Faculty members are knowledgeable. We have good teachers, but you still need to study on your own because they cannot teach the entire course in class.
Other: Only the top four branches—CS, EC, EI, EE—offer good placements, while other branches do not have many opportunities to join high-paying companies. The overall crowd tends to be dull, and the fest events are not very exciting. Mental health is affected by the curriculum.

I have great experience, and I am absolutely satisfied. It has good placements.
Placements: Starting with packages in my course in the VLSI industry, there are a few companies that recruit us. But packages are as impressive as our expectations. Companies like Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, John Deere, Intel, and MediaTek are the major recruiters. 20% of students get internship opportunities in those top companies.
Infrastructure: At first, our classrooms have a very good environment with an air-conditioning facility. The library is far better, which has full AC and a high-speed Wi-Fi facility. Hostels have great infrastructure for both studying and playing. There are Wi-Fi and LAN services in each room, which contains two beds. Overall, it is better.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are generally helpful and well-qualified. Many of them hold advanced degrees and are experienced in industry-related domains. The course curriculum is very relevant to real-world problems, and it prepares us for the industry world. In NIT Rourkela, academic comeback is very difficult because of the semester exams.
Other: I chose this branch because my JEE Main result qualified me for it. But after choosing this course, I feel very lucky because this domain is very interesting and the best.

Satisfied mostly because of placements, the academic curriculum, and a lush green campus.
Placements: 99% of students from the EC + EI got placed. However, there are 100% placements in the EI department (from the last 2 years). The highest package is 1.2 crores per annum (EI 2023-24), and the lowest package is 3.0 LPA(EC). The average package ranges from 13.5-17.5 LPA. Many software companies like Microsoft, Google, etc., and VLSI design companies like Texas Instruments, Intel, Nvidia, etc., hire students. More than half students got internships in the software domain, and the remaining in VLSI and core domains.
Infrastructure: The maximum speed of Wi-Fi is more than 100 Mbps, but the average is 30 Mbps. Labs of my department are well-maintained with all facilities like systems, software licenses, etc. Many classrooms have a centralised AC system. The library is one of the biggest in India. The quality of the hostel and mess food is also very good. Regular checking of the quality of food is done by the warden, who is a professor. We have a dispensary in our college for minor issues, and if major, they refer it outside hospital, which is very near to main gate.
Faculty: Many professors have done their PhD from top IITs, and they are very supportive. The teaching quality depends on one professor to another, but overall, it is good. The course curriculum is relevant. The course is designed by experts in their domain. Exams are a little bit difficult, and strict checking is done. Our curriculum is not very easy. The pass marks are 34 out of 100.
Other: I chose this course because of the good placements. The best thing is that students can go into software, the VLSI domain, and core fields. I wish that relative grading were there. Many fests happen all over year. Our college has a lush green campus. It is really very large and beautiful. Many scholarships are also given by others for B.Tech.

I will suggest to my junior to consider this college.
Placements: About 95% of ECE students were placed in 2024. The highest package is 1.2 crore, average is around 18 LPA, median is 13.5 LPA, and the lowest is 6 LPA. Top companies are Qualcomm, TI, Intel, and Samsung. Roles include VLSI, RTL design, embedded systems, also software domain, and lastly it all depends on your hardwork in college.
Infrastructure: Labs like VLSI, instrumentation, and DSP are well-equipped with cadence, xilink, and other tools. Hostels have good Wi-Fi, LAN, rooms 2 students in a room, mess food is also good, and we have a lot of variety. We also have day as well as night canteens. Dispensary is also available on campus for medical assistance. There is a good library. It has lush green campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, very supportive, and they are mostly research focused. Now the curriculum is designed according to new education policy, and it is updated with industry relevant subjects like VLSI, IoT, etc. Exams are moderately tough. We do not have relative grading here, and pass percentage is 35% but you need very good marks for good CGPA.
Other: Particularly EC and EI branches are good as they provide opportunities to pursue your career in both software as well as VLSI domains.

Satisfied because of its infrastructure.
Placements: In National Stock Technology Rourkela, almost 82-90% of the students will be placed. Top recruiting companies are Barclays, Intel, Microsoft, Google, etc. Mostly 32-40% of students got internships in great companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for the course and department are really good. Wi-Fi is available. Labs, classrooms, and library are available. The maintenance of the campus is excellent. Infrastructure is really good. There will be the golden jubilee, which attracts the campus more.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is really good. The curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. The difficulty of the semester exams will be more. Pass percentage is 32%-35%.
Other: I am a student in electronics and instrumentation engineering. The best thing about our course is that it provides good placement opportunities. Special students will have special companies in electronics and instrumentation engineering. Fests are really good.

Good placement stats, good infrastructure, facilities and one of the best hostel among NITs.
Placements: The college has a very good placement ratio. If I talk about the placement states, then in the 2024 batch, the rate of placement was 87.9%, and the highest package was 1.2 Cr PA. The average CTC is 18.3 LPA for my branch, and being a top NIT, it has one of the best faculty members and placements from top companies around the world.
Infrastructure: There is a totally different hostel for first-year students and for other-year students. The hostel provides you free internet. Also, there are two canteens inside the hostel. The food is also very good compared to other colleges. The hostel itself has its separate playground inside the hostel premises. Also, one can find washing machines on every floor and in every block. Labs has the best facilities, having every piece of equipment in good condition, and the library has every book along with a separate reading room. The college has its own medical room inside the campus. You will find any types of stores inside the campus that you need.
Faculty: The faculty members are the top professors all around India, and they will help you in the best way they can. You will be taught everything relevant to your course deeply, and in every semester you will be taught the practical knowledge along with the theoretical knowledge. There will be two one-end sem exams and one mid-sem exam in every semester.
Other: Talking about the fest, there you will find four fests every year. These will be cosmopolitan (multi-ethnic fest), Innovision (East India's largest tech fest), Vriddhi (sports fest), and NITRutsav (Odisha's largest cultural fest). There is also a student-run body, SAC, inside the campus that looks after all the extracurricular activities. NITR has the best club culture, as you will find at least one club in every field you are interested in.

There is a little chance for you to get NIT but you can get admission in IIIT's and many other government-funded colleges.

Hello Swami, If he got the branch of his choice in any NIT's then only send him to NIT's, but as you said he got very good rank in VIT so he can get good branches there. Send him to VIT, Vellore, because as per the latest NIRF ranking VIT secures 13th position surpassing many IITs and NITs.
