Both the colleges are great, NIT Warangal should be given more preference because DTU has 85% state quota, you should go for DTU if your school is in Delhi region. Otherwise, course curriculum and infrastructure of NIT Warangal is better. DTU is better in terms of placements but again, you will not get a preferred branch at the same rank if you are from outside Delhi region.

Both NIT Warangal and NIT Trichy are considered good for BTech course. When we compare both the colleges in terms of academics and placements, NIT Warangal outscores in terms of the average and the highest package. NIT Warangal admissions 2024 are based on NIMCET scores for MCA course. With a 70 percentile in 12th, candidates can easily get into NIT Warangal through NIMCET exam. Below are the basic percentile criteria for eligibility to be fulfilled by the candidates.

• Candidates must be holding graduation degree, such as BCA/B.Sc (Hons)/B.Sc/ BIT as per 10+2+3 pattern from a recognised University.

Registration window for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 was available till February 25, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online via the official NTA portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in.  

The application fees for JEE Main is written below

• INR 1,000 for Male unreserved, OBC, EWS category candidates
• INR 800 for Female unreserved/OBC/EWS category candidates
• INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates

To get a seat in the National Institute of Technology Warangal undergraduate, postgraduate and PG Dipolma courses, candidates must visit the official website of respective national-level entrance exam conducting bodies to register themselves. Eligible candidates are then required to appear for the entrance test, followed by another selection process. Apart from these, to get a seat in NIT Warangal students are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria of the course.

Out of NIT Rourkela, NIT Patna and NIT Warangal, NIT Rourkela has the most affordable tuition fees of INR 75,000 which is to be paid over 10 semesters. The total tuition fee of NIT Patna and NIT Warangal is INR 6.25 Lacs and INR 1 lakh, respectively.

Out of NIT Rourkela, NIT Patna and NIT Warangal, NIT Rourkela offers more Integrated BSc + MSc courses because they offer Integrated BSc + MSc for Life Science which is not offered by the other two colleges.

NIT Patna and NIT Warangal both offer three Integrated BSc+MSc courses in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Therefore, if a candidate is looking to apply for a joint BSc and MSc in Life Science they should apply for NIT Rourkela.

In 2022, the cutoff ranks for BTech in Mechanical Engineering at NIT Warangal other than General category were - 27127 for OBC, 68940 for SC, 976 for ST, 19714 for EWS, and 196789 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. Moreover, the cutoff also varies if the applicant is a female.

NIT Warangal NIMCET 2025 cutoff has been released for admission to MCA program. The NIMCET Round 1 cutoff has been released for candidates belonging to the All India quotas.
