M.Tech life in NIT Rourkela.
Placements: I am pursuing my masters in software engineering, and there are 22 students, out of which 14 are placed with the highest package of 38 LPA and the lowest package of 4 LPA. Companies like Qualcomm, Micron, Tata, Disney, Jio, and many others came with placement opportunities, but with few openings. The top roles offered were SDE, software engineer, and software developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good; we have classes and labs with Wi-Fi and AC. Hostels are just fine, but my hostel (SD Hall) has very good infrastructure, with water heaters in bathrooms, Wi-Fi, AC study rooms, a sports room, and a gym. The mess food is not that good.
Faculty: The teaching of a few faculty members is not that good; they just come and show PPT presentations. The course curriculum is very good, totally according to our specialization. There are two exams throughout every semester, and the difficulty level is pretty moderate.

Placements: Almost every deserving student got placed here, but for percent, I can say it is around 80~90%. The highest package is 83 LPA and the average is around 21 LPA. Top recruiting companies are QUALCOMM, Teradata, Google, Oneplus, Paytm, AR cesium and many more. Most students are hired for SDE.
Infrastructure: It features modern infrastructure with academic blocks, a well-equipped library, separate hostels, modern labs, sport facilities, computer centres and health facilities, fostering a conducive environment for learning and research. Foods are also good also and you can mostly expect to get lots of non-vegetarian food almost every day. For internet, private LAN ports are used in each room.
Faculty: Teachers are good but you have to do most of the work on your own. No one is going to spoon-feed here but the college environment and fellow students healthy competition will make for it. Semester exams are moderate in terms of difficulty, and the curriculum is good for making you industry-ready.

I am satisfied with this college in all aspects like teaching, infrastructure and placements.
Placements: The college has great placement opportunities for both B Tech and M.Tech students. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. All the top-level companies like Amazon, Arcesium, Oracle, Barclays, Qualcomm, Teradata, OnePlus and Paytm visit our college for placements. The college provides an excellent platform for placements. About 90% of M.Tech in computer science students get placed every year. Some companies like Qualcomm and General Electric provides an internship for students. For CSE students, the roles like software development engineer and graduate analyst are provided by the companies.
Infrastructure: The college has great infrastructure with a lush green campus. All the academic buildings are well-furnished. Labs are well-equipped with the instruments needed. There are 10 hostels in the college to accommodate the students. Hostels have LAN ports for each room. The sanitation and medical facility is excellent. There is a health centre on the campus, and a pharmacy is also available. You get medicines for free if the doctor has prescribed them. The quality of food served in a mess is good, and the eateries are also very good. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is provided in a mess. The eateries also have a nominal rate. There are many grounds and courts for each sport. A swimming pool is also present on the campus. Overall, our college has all the facilities you can ever imagine in a college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well-qualified. Almost every teacher has a doctorate degree and years of experience. The college provides technical courses. The syllabus is up to the mark. They are very helpful and highly knowledgeable. They definitely inspire us. The college gives a lot of importance to the research work. Every teacher has published many research papers.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am doing M.Tech in computer science. I have chosen this course to enhance my knowledge, and I have gained a lot of knowledge. The college helped me to build a good project and get a very good placement offer. The college has many societies which will help you in extracurricular activities. There are dance, music, art and coding societies. It also has a society that helps the animals and feeds them. Every year, three cultural festivals are conducted in the college for the finance and entertainment of the students. Fests organised at our college are very exciting and refreshing.

Review of NIT Rourkela - M. Tech, Computer Science.
Placements: In terms of the placement, NIT Rourkela is amongst the top in NITs. For computer science, most of the students are placed and the package offered is around 6LPA. There will be two to three core companies for placement. So study hard for those companies and maintain a CGPA of 8 to crack into core job placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one thing to be considered in this college. It has a Student Activity Center (SAC) where many clubs are present, and where you can join by your choice and improve your personality and knowledge. The college is also providing the facility of gym, swimming pool, Wi-Fi, and LAN.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-experienced in their field with an industrial background. Each professor used his/her own teaching techniques. The curriculum is well-designed according to the requirement of the course. The student to faculty ratio is very good and they are very interactive. Industry exposure is very common in many government colleges and we got it.
