The VARC section has 24 questions, the DILR section has 28 questions and QA section has 22 question. Each question carries 3 marks for correct entry and -1 for incorrect entry. There is no negative marking for unanswered question. A unique aspect of CAT is the sectional time limit. Each section has a time limit of 40 minutes (53.20 minutes for PwD candidates).
Candidates have to complete the section within the time limit as the moment the onscreen timer shows 0 minutes left, the screen will automatically move to the next section. They have to first solve the VARC section, then the DILR section and then the QA section.

RGIPT M.Tech admission 2024 is entrance-based. Given below is the detailed RGIPT M.Tech admission process:
STEP 1: Application Process
Fill out the online application form available on the RGIPT website. In the online application form, candidates must provide their personal phone number and email ID and must pay the non-refundable application fees of INR 500 (for General and OBC candidates) and, INR 250 (for SC, ST and, PwD category candidates) before filing of application form.
STEP 2: Selection Criteria
For the full-time regular registration category, candidates are shortlisted based on the GATE score or written test or interview or on the basis of any combination of these as declared by the individual department. For admission under other categories, candidates are exempted from appearing in the written test.
STEP 3: Seat Allotment
The institute declares the final merit list of candidates who are required to appear for the counselling process and pay the RGIPT M.Tech fees.
The applicants must follow the RGIPT BTech application process for the academic year 2024 as mentioned below:
Step 1: Register as a new student and proceed to login to the application form.
Step 2: Pay the non-refundable application fees of INR 600 + INR 108 (Taxes) for SC/ ST/ PwD and female category candidates and, INR 1200 + INR 216 (Taxes) for all other candidates.
Step 3: Fill in the personal information, address, contact details and, academic qualification details.
Step 4: Fill out the JEE (Advanced)/ JEE (Mains) details, bank details and, upload all the necessary documents.
Step 5: Preview and submit the application form.
Yes, RGIPT offers various scholarship schemes for the financial assistance of its students as Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students, State Government of Uttar Pradesh Scholarship, State Government of Jharkhand Scholarship ‘e-Kalyan', State Government of Madhya Pradesh Scholarship- Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Vidhyarti, and others.
Candidates can check the RGIPT B.Tech cutoff 2023 on the official website of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at rgipt.ac.in. The cutoff will be released with each merit list on the official website as a PDF file. Previously, the cutoff marks for RGIPT B.Tech admission 2023 were announced on July 18, 2023. To check the cutoff, candidates can visit the RGIPT website and look for the merit list and cutoff information. Please note that the cutoff marks announced for RGIPT B.Tech admission 2023 will depict the range of ranks in JEE. The authorities have released the RGIPT B.Tech application form in online mode only, so candidates cannot access it in offline mode. Candidates of SC/ST categories should have scored at least 55% marks, while other categories should have scored at least 60% marks
