College Review (Moreover the departmental review).
Placements: The roles offered are system engineer, software developer and system analyst. The highest package offered is 12.50 LPA and the lowest package is 4LPA. Top recruiting companies are IBM, B.M.C., HCL, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini and Infosys. 40 students got placed out of 50.
Infrastructure: Facilities are available for the students. As students we were allowed to use the wi-fi and Labs. We didn't use the library too much but for personal reading purposes I use to go to the library to collect some subjective book, bring them to my place and to use them for the whole semester.
Faculty: Teachers were not 100% helpful. In the final year project we didn't get any kind of help from our faculty and sometimes it seemed like they were totally unapproachable. Moreover our project guide did not help us in our project. The course curriculum was relevant.
Other: I chose this course because I heard that Instrumentation Engineering was going to rule the market in the upcoming years. In the syllabus, I don't know why they ignored an important subject, "Basic Electronics." We didn't even do the practicals and had to enter in a straight forward manner in the Analog Electronics Laboratory. So, I think this subject should be added in the new curriculum. In every year, there is a Technical Fest called "TechTrix." It was too good to endure your technical skills along with improving yourself.

I am dissatisfied because of the faculty members and lab facilities.
Placements: More than 85% of the students from our course get placed. The highest salary package offered is 13 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, etc., visit our college to hire students. In our course, there are no internships, but off-campus internships are available. Top roles like graduate engineer trainee and project engineer are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: Our college provides infrastructure and facilities like 2 cafeterias, lift, common room, low-speed Wi-Fi, clean classrooms and the library with updated books. In labs, half of the instruments are not working.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are quite helpful. They all are M.Tech and PhD holders with good exposure and experience. They mostly teach theory and no practical. The course curriculum is relevant to some extent, but it does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams are easy if you work hard and tough if you bunk class.
Other: I have chosen this course because the course is in demand. The best thing about this course is you get to know what instrumentation is. Our college should provide more faculty members with work experience in industries. Our college organises fests like Techtrix, BIHAN, Krirathon, etc.

Infrastructure and facilities are very good.
Placements: Many companies like PWC, CTS, IBM and many other companies come to our college. Students can get many opportunities from our college. For electronics and electrical students, it is tough to get a job through our college. Still, our faculty members help us in many ways.
Infrastructure: The hostel is not available in the college, but there are many PGs and hostels near the college. There are 2 grounds where you can play many games. A common room for boys and girls is also available here. Sports fest, technological fest and many programs happen in our college.
Faculty: This course curriculum is relevant, and you can get many jobs from the course. In West Bengal, there are limited jobs regarding this course. Faculty members are very helpful, and they help you to do any kind of project. They always support you.
Other: Many fests are conducted in our college, like sports fest, techfest and annual fest. Anyone can surely enjoy fests, and our fests are open to all.

It is a nice college to gain knowledge with decent ambience.
Placements: Placements are decent in our college, but not very good as not all the students get placed. The highest salary package offered is nearly around 4 LPA-6 LPA. TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and Capgemini were reputed companies which visited our campus for placements. There is no internship facility for this under-graduate programme.
Infrastructure: There are separate computer labs for all streams. Moreover, there are labs for every subject for every stream, and they are equipped. Our college has a library, which contains both subject-related and other important books. Our college doesn't have Wi-Fi facilities or mess or hostel facility.
Faculty: Teachers here are quite helpful in terms of final year project work. Our college forms a group of five or six students, and a faculty member will mentor them throughout the year. The course curriculum is relevant as it helps us to understand the basics and prepare us to face the world.

The college has excellent ambience, and it provides good courses.
Placements: Around 80% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered until now is 8.5 LPA. L&T is the top recruiter, and in the previous year Indian Navy, Johnson Controls, etc., visited the campus for core department. The lowest salary package offered in our course was 4 LPA. Many companies offer internships, but it totally depends on the companies whether they intern the students or not.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide any hostel facility, but nearby PGs are available. The mess is available, and there are one canteen and one cafeteria. The canteen serves healthy food at affordable rates, same for the cafeteria. There are many food restaurants and stalls nearby the college. There is a free Wi-Fi facility, along with excellent labs with modern equipment. Classrooms are nice.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable with knowledge of their subject and cooperative. Their teachings quality is good as there are modern classrooms. The course curriculum makes the students core industry-ready with all the basic knowledge about the industry. Many outdoor events and seminars are conducted, which helps the students to improve outside knowledge.
Other: I chose this course because of my JEE Mains marks, and it is a core subject for those who like electronics. There is no need to improve anything in our course. Many fests are conducted like freshers, cultural fest and technical fest.

Majorly the placements are in IT companies with a moderate quality of faculty and facilities.
Placements: Around 80% of the students have been placed on the campus. Mainly IT companies namely TCS, Infosys, and Capgemini visit the campus for placements. One student got placed in Johnson Controls. The salary was ranged between Rs. 40,000 per month, the highest being Rs. 45,000 per month, and the lowest is Rs. 35,000 per month. The companies gave job profiles of trainees.
Infrastructure: IT labs were available with freely installed MATLAB software. The library facilities were available with access to few journals and book bank facilities. The medical facilities are not available. Annual tech and sports fest are held along with cultural fest on the campus. The quality of canteen food is moderate.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful. The teaching quality was good. The professors helped in making the project and project report. The project and PPTs are helpful, and the students need to have a keen interest in meaningful insights. The atmosphere as a whole is friendly.
Other: The fests are held on the campus. The campus connectivity is moderate.

Overall, it is quite well in all aspects.
Placements: The placement scenario of my college is average with fifty percent of students getting placed every year. The college brings IT companies more than core companies. The salary which the companies are ready to pay is about 4.2 LPA. Overall, the placement is quite good.
Infrastructure: My college consists of two widely spread buildings, a new one and an old one. Many more development works are going on. Still, there are many things to develop, and it's developing day by day. They do have a small playground, well-constructed labs, an auditorium, garden and pond, and the college is well surrounded.
Faculty: The faculty of our college are average. Some are really very good, but some are below average. The course curriculum is very nice. You will always feel that the course is systematic. The students enjoy the curriculum of the college. Teachers are helpful and supportive. They guide us very well every time.
Other: The college does conduct many events like cultural fest, technical fest, sports events every year. Many seminars and workshops are conducted on a regular basis.

Review of an average engineering college
Placements: In our batch, placements were okay with 60% of the people getting placed. Generally, it's 80%. In all the other batches, it was pretty good. MNCs did visit the campus. Students got placed in Tech Mahindra from the college itself. Likes of Cognizant, Infosys, and TCS visit our college. But there's not much scope for core departments.
Infrastructure: Not that great. Mine was a new department in the college. So the infrastructure was not at all that great. I did not have a proper lab for a long time. Actually, I never got a proper lab. We gave theory exams rather than doing proper lab activity.
Faculty: A few faculty members were good but most of them were not so great. They could not make the class interesting at all. The subjects and the course of study were too outdated. The faculty members were more into finishing their work rather than teaching us. They really could not give an insight into the subjects.
Other: As an engineering college, it is just average. It could have been given a better infrastructure and many more facilities. But I had a good life. They encourage sports and extra-curricular activities. The students have a power. They listen to the students but not easily. So there are huge areas for improvement.
