All details of our college.
Placements: About 85% B.Tech students get jobs. In my course, the highest package is 25 LPA, and the average package of my branch is about 8 LPA. Siemens, Tata Power, TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant are the top recruiting companies. About 90% students got internships from the campus. In this course, your opportunity of getting a good placement is high.
Infrastructure: In Calcutta University, when you take admission and in 1st year, your campus is the Technology Campus, Salt Lake, Sector 3, JD block. Infrastructure is decent, on all floors Wi-Fi is available, labs are neat and clean, a lift, and very special is its library, where you can study in a very cool atmosphere. In hostels, you can get a big, quiet room occupied by 3 students. A canteen is available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and behave like friends. In the matter of their knowledge, no doubt, they are masterpieces. They teach us very nicely, and we are also helped in studying GATE by them. They are all well qualified, most of them completed their M.Tech from IITs. Almost 85% student pass the semester examination. The semester exam is not too hard. If you follow the class notes, you can easily get a 9 CGPA.

The fee is not expensive, but the infrastructure and placements are poor.
Placements: There are not many campus placements, as only a very few IT and core companies like TCS, Wipro, Haldia Petrochemicals, etc., visit here. Students mainly focus on the GATE exam for placements and higher education in IITs. The placements also vary according to the branch of students, like CS, IT etc. Students have very good placements compared to core engineering subjects because the IT industry has been booming in recent years.
Infrastructure: The college has outdated British-era classrooms, and the labs are pathetic because the instruments are very old and outdated for this generation. But computer labs are good and built on modern lines. A good hostel is available for candidates whose hometown is far away from Kolkata.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are good, but some are very mean to students. If someone tries to act smart in front of them, they will definitely fail that student in that subject. Then, the student will have to make an extra effort to clear the subject. The regular exams are held timely, but the supplementary exams do not happen regularly. The 2017 batch first-year supplementary exams were held in 2021, and the students had to wait for four years to clear their supply.
Other: I chose this college because it was a reputed government university, and I chose this course because it was what I was getting according to my rank. I didn't have any knowledge of what real engineering looks like.

This college is value for money and has low expenses.
Placements: I have researched through the web, almost of the students get placed in this college. The median salary package offered is 8.45 LPA. Many students get placed in IT sector companies such as Accenture and TCS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this university is good as compared to other government colleges. The classrooms are well furnished, air-conditioned, and well-equipped library. It provides sports and games, and students are getting well-equipped rooms and canteen. I am a day scholar, so I do not know about hostel facilities.
Faculty: All of the teachers are well qualified, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They explained the concepts very easily, and it help students in our exams. They also took our doubts and give us quality time to solve them. The course curriculum is relevant, and the semester exams are moderately hard.
Other: It provides knowledgeable teachers. I would highly recommend this college to students.

Review of Calcutta University.
Placements: Almost 85% of the students got placed in our course. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 9 LPA, the average salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are national instruments like ABB, Larsen & Toubro, Suzlon, Apna Technologies, etc. Instrumentation engineering is a good engineering stream.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are clean and modern with a projector machine. The college area is fully covered with Wi-Fi facilities. Food, sports, and game facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, well-educated, and qualified. Their teaching experience is very good, and some teachers teach us with their own notes. This course curriculum is relevant such that the students can be industry-ready. Semester exams in this college are very hard, but teachers are teaching very well, so 100% of the students are passed. Faculty members are very good and friendly. Their teaching method is very good.
Other: In this college, there are some special facilities. There is no ragging and politics, and seniors are very good and friendly. Teachers are also very good and friendly, and they always tell us to ask any doubt even the doubt seems very little. In this college, the fee structure is very low, so it is a good college and value for money. You can get a scholarship like SVMCM, OASIS, etc.

It is a very good college after Jadavpur University.
Placements: Seats in engineering are far less than any other engineering college in West Bengal. But most of the students get placed who apply for it and many go for higher studies. The average salary package offered is about 4 LPA, and the highest salary package offered was 6.5 LPA. TCS, Wipro, and cognizant are the mass recruiters. If you want a good internship you will need to find it by yourself.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is above average, and there is Wi-Fi. Labs and classrooms are good, and the library has a huge collection of books. I am not a hosteller but I heard from classmates that the hostel facility is good enough and hostel charges are very low. There is a canteen on every campus but don't expect many of sports and games.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, knowledgeable, and helpful. The syllabus is according to current needs and industry-ready. In this covid time., online exams have been easier than normal exams but previously it was harder than other colleges' affiliated to MAKAUT. Many students fail in subjects but a year back is rare.
Other: I chose this course because I had an interest in electronics and could not get an ECE during admission. For improvement, I think they should teach programing more in the syllabus. Events and fests happen but not much, and the campus is not that very crowded. It is situated at the center of the city and transportation is very easy. Scholarships are available if you have good scores on the exam. Extracurricular activities have almost stopped because of Covid.

It is the best college in WBJEE after JU and far better in value for money than any private college.
Placements: Placements are decent here. As seats are very low as compared to other colleges, most of the students get placed. The average salary package offered is about 4 LPA, and the highest salary package offered in the last year was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS and Wipro. Core placements are offered in Honeywell and Samsung, but they are less in numbers. It is compulsory for every student to do internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent, and everything is available, which is needed for a good education. Classrooms are good, and the labs are well-maintained. The library is huge, and you can find any book you need. Hostels are average as compared with the very low monthly charge. Medical facilities are available, but outdoor games facilities are not as good as it is in the main part of the city. The campus has full Wi-Fi connectivity.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, very helpful, and you can contact them at any time if you need some help. Teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is good, but it can be improved more to make students more industry-ready. In core streams, coding is limited, but it can be increased so that students get to know languages like python and java.
Other: I wanted to go to Jadavpur University, but I did not get the desired stream, so I got admitted here. It is far better than any private college, but in the end, you can get a job with a salary of Rs. 20,000 per month. I am interested in working with microprocessors, embedded systems and IoT devices, so I wanted electronics or related streams. The only thing that can be improved is to introduce students more to coding and if possible competitive coding which would be very helpful for their future. Fests and seminars are organised quite often. The campus is crowded as it is small. However, the campus is at the main part of the city, so there is always a crowd outside the campus also. Scholarships are provided by the government and from the university also.

It is one of the best colleges if you are in search of knowledge.
Placements: Seats in our course are less compared to other institutions, and everyone who opted for placements got offers. In instrumentation, one is allowed to even sit for electrical and electronics and even some of the CS and IT placements, so a student gets many options. I'm giving 3 stars for the placements, as the top recruiters are mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant. There were some core companies like Texas Instruments and Honeywell, but they recruited very few students only. The average salary package offered was about 3.5 LPA. In case of any internship, I'll advise students to find on his/her own, because only then he'll be able to find better scopes than the university.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good enough and better than most of the private colleges in West Bengal. Labs are well-equipped, and one will find everything needed there. Classrooms are good enough but don't expect luxuries like air conditioners. Only the technology campus in the salt lake has air-conditioners. You'll find all resources you need in the library. Canteen and medical facilities are not good, but you'll find everything around the university campus. Sports and other extracurricular activities are very less.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well qualified and very helpful. Teaching quality is good enough but if you take private tuitions elsewhere that will give you an edge for competitive exams like GATE. The new course curriculum is industry-ready and covers everything required for higher studies.
Other: I opted for this course as I was interested in electronics-related things and am planning to do masters on VLSI and microelectronics. Honestly, ECE cut off was higher than my rank, and I did not want other streams like electrical and chemical engineering. I would like it if they improve the placements and increase the intake capacity and give students internships from the university. University campus is small and crowded, so one may not find the college life as they expected.
