Mildly satisfied with the faculty, great opportunity for creating future connections.
Placements: 50 to 60% students get placed, the highest placement for economics is around 24LPA, and the lowest is 4LPA. Top recruiting companies are majorly consulting firms, the best being McKinsey. Internships are majorly internal if taken via college otherwise, its up to you what you want to do for your internship elsewhere, but you have to submit a report about the same. Top roles offered are those of a Data Analyst and a Financial Analyst, depending on what field you want to further pursue.
Infrastructure: The course is really good, although no Wi-Fi services in the classrooms and on campus. Hostels are below average because you have to return to your hostel vicinity by 7:30 to 8 pm maximum. Library is top notch with really good space for self study as well, and you can study at a pace of your mind. The food in hostels is decent, the medical facilities are decent, and sports and games within the college are really good overall.
Faculty: Faculty is good, with them actually caring about the students and trying to maintain a healthy relationship with students. The quality of teaching is somewhat on par, and most of them are highly knowledgeable and helpful. They try to encourage you to study what is outside the scope of the syllabus for your own knowledge. Course curriculum is relevant as a subject, but no modern day applications are presented, and it definitely does not make you industry ready. Semester exams are pretty normal, nothing too difficult, and pass percentage is really high, with just 4 to 5 students failing in my class at max.
Other: Value for money 100% due to a reasonable fee of 75k per year, and the crowd is also good, although its just people from West Bengal and barely anyone outside from other states. The campus life does not exist because it is so small, but the events within societies are really fun and good, and you gain a lot of experience from them, with a huge scope for connectivity and extensive extracurricular activities present as well.

It is a fantastic college for students serious about their careers.
Placements: St. Xavier's College is very renowned for its placements and internships. Many big companies like IBM, Nestle, Deloitte, Wipro etc. recruit students and provide them internships. The average package of a graduate ranges from 3.5 LPA to 5 LPA. Around 500 students got such placements in marketing, finance, management etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities available are well-furnished classrooms with air conditioning along with 2 playgrounds, a library, and many auditoriums. Our hostel has a good Wi-Fi connection, and along with that, they serve meals which are of great quality 3-4 times a day. Our hostel also has an infirmary for any problems that require medical attention.
Faculty: Faculty is highly qualified, with most professors holding a Ph.D. degree, and the quality of teaching is excellent. The curriculum taught by the teachers is very relevant for situations in today's world, as we are taught with the help of real-life examples. Therefore, it is pretty easy to understand, and anyone who studies for 1 or 2 hours a day would be able to score really good marks, due to which the pass percentage is very high.

1st year view, which has less appealing college life but great faculty and opportunities for the fut
Placements: Placement has 60% to 90% for our senior batches. I think the lowest package is 4 LPA, while the highest is 24 LPA. Deloitte, ICICI Bank, and other companies come to the ST. Xavier's College Kolkata offers placement and most of the students from the economics honors get placement.
Infrastructure: We have a great big library for studying as well as borrowing books. Moreover, our classrooms have air-conditioners, some of them, especially our own, we have good auditoriums and a cyber room for sprint outs or use of Wi-Fi if needed. I do not live in hostel but from what I've heard, it is, in general, normal living conditions, as one expects, average.
Faculty: The faculty and curriculum are the best, the teachers are all really helpful and knowledgeable, moreover, the exam structure is as such in any institution, one would say, with mid-semester and end-semesters. Exams are also standard, but such that one would pass if they studied.

SXC B.Sc. Economics is genuinely worth it.
Placements: Placements can vary from year to year with reference to both the number of people placed and the highest paying roles. The lowest package generally remains close to at least 4.5 LPA, and the highest can actually surpass 7 LPA to 8LPA. Economics generally offers pretty decent placements, provided students simultaneously pursue finance courses or allied data Science degrees. We have companies like Meesho, Kotak Mahindra, Zomato, and other startups coming. The top roles are Operations, HR, Analyst, and Management. Commerce students usually get an edge over others.
Infrastructure: The library's ending system can extend books up to one month, and the collection conveniently serves all our needs. We do not need to buy books from outside. It also has non-academic bestsellers. We also get access to a large number of online resources, including journals, newspapers, and academic portals. The college also has counsellors for non academic and psychological guidance and support. The canteen offers over 40 different items covering major cuisine patterns of India and general food styles abroad. There a TT Room, an E Sports Society, and sports events taking place from time to time.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Nearly all of them are doctoral holders and specialists in specific branches of the subject that they teach as separate papers. The teaching quality is nice. They use blackboards, whiteboards, and PPTs when needed. The course is robust and deep. It needs a lot of attention. Statistical methods in economics are taught only from the second year onwards. Statistics need to be emphasized a little more. Papers are moderate to tough, but most students pass with less than 10 percent failing in 1 to 2 papers.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Economics Honours, as I loved economics as a subject of study. It should be made a little more practical with reference to the usage of computer tools and statistical software. The crowd is great. The fests are entertaining beyond words. There a lot of exposure.

Make your college life worthy of experiences.
Placements: Placement is a partially guaranteed phenomenon. The competition in your batch will be really tough as the cutoff percentage for Economics at Xavier's is shockingly high. So mostly the toppers of different schools come on board. Talking about Internships, the placement cell does arrange internships offered by D. E. Shaw & Co, Deloitte, pwc, Larsen and Toubro and many more for second year as well the third year students. However it will entirely depend on your competitiveness as the seats available would be very limited.
Infrastructure: The teaching faculty is fairly good yet not all professors may suit you. It is imperative to mention that there is no comprosomise to facilities given to students. The teachers use simple teaching methods and that quite suffices the purpose. The library won't disappoint you for sure. Access to campus Wi-Fi for students is denied.
Faculty: The professors are extremely qualified and helpful. For Economics, you won't be disappointed with the teaching. The curriculum is relevant. Few professors share industry ready experiences which is worth taking a note of. If you compare the CU end-semester exams and SXC exams you will be astonished to find the level of difficulty in our papers. Mugging up really doesn't help here.
Other: I find the syllabus very interesting. Macro and Micro at the intermediate level becomes difficult eventually.

Yes, you can do because B.Sc. Economics Hons Programme, it is a commerce base Programme. Only a Bsc tag name doesn't give it a science base Programme. Most of Universities offer economics Hons programme Programme to students with subjects like Maths or economics.

The cut-off for the first two boards is from 92 to 96 percent. West Bengal Board has lower cut-off marks from them. https://www.shiksha.com/college/st-xavier-s-college-kolkata-park-street-23242/course-b-sc-hons-in-economics-83775

The student must have obtained 45% marks in each of the 4 subjects included in the aggregate calculation. The student must have passed all the papers as per the respective board/council pass marks. Marks in all subjects indicated in the +2 level mark sheet must be entered in the application form.

Many universities do not allow eco Hons. Without including maths marks. Although, it depends upon the university's own rules and regulations. So, kindly go through the college website in which you wish to get admission.

Hi, It totally depends on the overall results in ISC. It's a bit tough to say whether it will increase or not. But, looking at your marks, I think you have a very good chance to find your name on the Merit List. All the best.
