Cochin University of Science And Technology has changed the CUSAT CAT 2020 admission procedure. Aspirants will get admission to BTech/MSc in Photonics (Five year integrated) and MSc in Science (Five year integrated) Programmes based on the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in Class 12/PUC programmes.
CUSAT CAT is the abbreviated form of Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test. It is conducted every year for admission to the courses of Engineering, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Law, Marine Sciences, Medical Sciences & Technology, Science, Social Sciences and Technology. CUSAT 2020 New Admission Procedure
The admission authority of Cochin University of Science and Technology has come up with a CUSAT 2020 new admission procedure following which aspirants will be admitted. The new admission procedure of CUSAT CAT are as follow:
- Class 12 marks will be normalized for preparing CUSAT rank list
- The exam authority will utilize the standardization procedure published by Commissioner of Entrance Examination; Govt. of Kerala for KEAM 2020
- For BTech and MSc (Five year integrated) in Photonics, marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be taken into consideration for normalization
- For Integrated MSc in Science (Five year) Programme, marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology (Mathematics or Biology, whichever is greater, for students who studied both the subjects) will be considered for normalization
CUSAT New Admission Procedure 2020: Tie Breaking Rule
After normalization of marks, if two or more than two aspirants obtain same marks then the tie-breaking rule will be used. The rules to break the tie are as follow:
- First, marks obtained in Mathematics will be compared. Aspirant with highest marks in Mathematics will get the priority
- If tie continues then marks obtained in Physics will be compared
- If tie persists then marks obtained in Chemistry will be compared
- If tie still not resolved then combined marks of Mathematics/Biology & Physics, then Mathematics/Biology & Chemistry, then Physics & Chemistry
- If the tie continues then total marks obtained in Class 12 examination will be taken into account
- Further, marks obtained in English will be used to resolve the tie
- If tie persists then date of births will be considered for tie-breaking
- Alphabetical order of the name may be considered for tie-breaking in case tie still exists
