IIT Madras incubation cell gets INR 14 crore from Medibuddy founders

The incubation cell of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has received INR 14 crore from a digital healthcare platform, MediBuddy, for its growth and development purpose. MediBuddy’s co-founders Satish Kannan and Enbasekar, both alumnus of IIT Madras, were among the first incubatee of IIT Madras’s incubation cell, which was started as a deep tech incubator in 2013. 

The incubation cell of IIT Madras has catered to more than 250 start-ups and helped budding entrepreneurs pave their way, survive and grow in a competitive market environment. The institution aims to create an ecosystem to support the budding entrepreneurs. The initial INR 5 lakh that was given by IIT Madras helped us get started,” said Satish Kannan, co-founder and chief executive officer of MediBuddy. 

IIT Madras Research Park launches book 

The IITM Research Park (IITMRP) in association with IIT Madras and the IITM Alumni Association (IITMAA) has launched a book ‘The IITM Nexus’, tracing the inspiring journey of 16 IIT Madras entrepreneurs alumni spanning across five decades and their rise towards becoming some of the country’s biggest entrepreneurial successes.  

Q:   Is BTech available in IIT Madras?
A:

Yes, a full-time four-year BTech course is available at IIT Madras. Admission to this course is completely entrance-based. Candidates can pursue BTech course across various popular specialisations, including Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace3 Engineering, CSE, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, etc. IIT Madras BTech admission are offered on total 1,195 seats through a common admission process. Candidates are selected based on valid JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced scores.

IIT Madras has been consistently ranked 1 by the NIRF Rankings in 2023 for the fourth time in a row and Internationally, IIT Madras was ranked 255 in the QS World University Rankings of 2022. the IIT Madras famous course is B.Tech. Yes, COAP registration is mandatory for IIT Madras admissions done on the basis of GATE exam. The institute accepts GATE + COAP for both M.Tech and MA admissions. Any student choosing to register via GATE score at the institute must register on COAP portal as well.
