IIT Madras incubation cell gets INR 14 crore from Medibuddy founders
MediBuddy’s co-founders Satish Kannan and Enbasekar, both alumnus of IIT Madras, were among the first incubatee of IIT Madras’s incubation cell, which was started as a deep tech incubator in 2013.
The incubation cell of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has received INR 14 crore from a digital healthcare platform, MediBuddy, for its growth and development purpose. MediBuddy’s co-founders Satish Kannan and Enbasekar, both alumnus of IIT Madras, were among the first incubatee of IIT Madras’s incubation cell, which was started as a deep tech incubator in 2013.
The incubation cell of IIT Madras has catered to more than 250 start-ups and helped budding entrepreneurs pave their way, survive and grow in a competitive market environment. The institution aims to create an ecosystem to support the budding entrepreneurs. “The initial INR 5 lakh that was given by IIT Madras helped us get started,” said Satish Kannan, co-founder and chief executive officer of MediBuddy.
IIT Madras Research Park launches book
The IITM Research Park (IITMRP) in association with IIT Madras and the IITM Alumni Association (IITMAA) has launched a book ‘The IITM Nexus’, tracing the inspiring journey of 16 IIT Madras entrepreneurs alumni spanning across five decades and their rise towards becoming some of the country’s biggest entrepreneurial successes.
IIT Madras has been consistently ranked 1 by the NIRF Rankings in 2023 for the fourth time in a row and Internationally, IIT Madras was ranked 255 in the QS World University Rankings of 2022. the IIT Madras famous course is B.Tech. Moreover, the top recruiters such as Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company visited the campus and the highest package offered during IIT Madras placements 2023 was INR 1. 31 crore per annum. Additionally, IIT Madras median package for almost all the courses recorded an improving trend.
IIT Madras conducts an annual fest called Shaastra. It is an annual technical festival organised to celebrate unconstrained thinking and love for the spirit of engineering.
Another cultural festival organised by IIT Madras is Saarang, It is the largest cultural fest in India held every year in the month of January.
The book authored by Shrikant Sundararajan, Shree Pandey and Shibani Shashin is a testament to the ambitious vision of IIT Madras, IITM Research Park and IITM Incubation Cell in inspiring, influencing, and nurturing entrepreneurs across the decades who have held illustrious achievements in India and globally.
Yes, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras offers a two-year full-time M.Tech course at the postgraduate level. The institute offers 30 MTech specialisations for BE/ BTech graduates across 12 departments. IIT Madras MTech admission will be conducted via the GATE 2025 exam.
