Minimum Marks Required in JEE Advanced 2026 for IIT: The IIT Roorkee will release the minimum JEE Advanced marks candidates need to be eligible for IIT admission with the JEE Advanced 2026 result. Until the JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff marks are released, candidates can check and analyse the cutoff from the previous few years.
The candidates have to pass the minimum marks prescribed by the authorities in each subject of the JEE Advanced exam individually and also in total. The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2026 will be equal to the marks of the Physics part of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way. The total aggregate marks will be the total marks including paper 1 and paper 2 together.
JEE Advanced cutoff mark is the minimum marks for inclusion in the rank list. The authority will prepare the JEE Advanced rank based on the marks of students including other factors. Higher the rank high the chance of admission to the top IITs.

The JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff of the common rank list is 20.56%; 18.50% for the GEN-EWS rank list and OBC-NCL rank list; 10.28% for SC, ST, and PwD rank lists across all categories; and 5.14% for Preparatory course rank lists.
All those candidates who score above the cutoff marks in their respective categories can register for JoSAA counselling to participate in the IIT seat allotment process. Note that qualifying the JEE Advaced cutoff will not guarantee a seat in the IITs. Various factors are at play while allotting seats in the IITs. These factors include the demand for a course and IIT, the number of seats on offer, the reservation criteria, etc.
To get a JEE Advanced AIR below 5000, candidates must score around 145 marks out of 360 as per the 2025 data.
To get an AIR below 500 in JEE Advanced, candidates have to score atleast 234 marks as per the data released for JEE Advanced 2025.

As per the JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility criteria, general/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2001 in order to apply for the exam. Candidates from SC, ST, and PwD category get a 5-year relaxation hence they must be born on or after October 1, 1996.
Around 1.8 Lacs candidates register for JEE Advanced every year. In 2025, the number of candidates who applied for JEE Advanced are 1,87,223. Of all the registered candidates, 1,80,422 candidates took the exam.
The application form of JEE Advanced 2027 will be released around second week of April. The exact dates for registration will be notified in the official website jeeadv.ac.in. There will be separate registration window for foreign and Indian candidates.
