Learn the basic concepts, clarify doubts, know the exam pattern, practise previous year question papers regularly and revise thoroughly are essential to crack any competitive exam like JEE.

JEE Main is one of the important exams for engineering aspirants. JEE Main could be a scoring exam for students who have been preparing for the exam from the beginning. To score well in the exam, students need to prepare for JEE Main by covering all the topics of the syllabus with thorough revision.

Details of JEE

  • Till 2018, JEE Main was conducted once a year in both online and offline mode. Ranks were given based on the marks.
  • From 2019, JEE is conducted twice a year (January and May) and the mode of examination is online. Now, Ranks are given based on the percentile. A special category EWS is included which has 10% reservation for those students whose income is less than Rs 8 Lakhs per annum.

I appeared for this exam in 2018. This article is based on my personal experience and observations.

Preparation Tips

The students of AP or TS Boards for Class 11 and 12 covers almost all the basics of JEE exam problems. For the rest of the students, NCERT books would be useful for the preparation. To score high in JEE, students need to have a deep understanding of all the topics. Make short notes of the important topics as this would help during the revision of the subject.
